Wolfram Monks

The Way of Tungsten

Shortly after the end of the Great Calamity, the world continued to be a hard and brutal place. Suitable metals were precious and rare, slavery and tyrrany ran rampant, and monsters terrorized all walks of Cinder's Hope. It became apparent to many that the only thing one could rely on was their own Indvidual Strenth of Mind, Character, and Body. While the origin of The Way is shrouded and lost to the events that eluded record, some whisper that a Hero of Spirefell ell is reponsible for its Inspiration. Many of the Wolfram Way Monks revere the Smith-God Degir but all Wolfram monks pledge absolute devotion to the shrine of self-improvement. The first Wolfram Monks trained in solitude, honing their abilities of survival, combat, and discipline. While some found great promise in mastering the blade or blunt instrument, the greatest of these Monks was a deadly force even when unarmed. From there the Monks dispersed into Cinder's Hope, cleaving and fighting any who they found wanting and spreading the Wolfram Way wherever they went. Their numbers swelled, hundereds of Monks decending on slaver camps or bringing foul Darkflame abominations into submission. As the dust settled and life began to return to Cinder's Hope the Monks were needed less and less. Now their decendants and acolytes are practitioners of Martial Arts and beholders of the Wolfram way. Many City-States have Monistaries devoted to their study and perpetual self-improvement however, in the current day these Monks grow more isolated and require for aspirants to pass three trials. These trials differ from Monastary to Monastary but they follow the same general principals. A test of Might, A trial of Character, and a Toil of Mind.

Wolfram Monks

The Monks of the Tungsten Order themselves are a diverse group of individuals. Their main connection being the unending strive towards self-improvement. Because of this, one may find Tungsten way practitioners in many walks of life, however, most monks of station take a vow to aviod direct interference with the affairs of City States and their functioning, as well as taking offical office. This is to aviod conflicts between upholdng the Way of Tungston and the affairs of governing. The idea of governing is also at odds with their tennants of rugged individualism and self-sustinance, however they merely quietly oppose quiet growth of civilization.
"...to make these hands harder than any stone, to make this mind sharper than any tool, to make this body stronger than any weapon, this is the Oath of Wolfram."
"Let not your influnce blind you to your weakness."
