General Summary

When we last left our heroes, a Shields within their camp on the Withering Road revealed himself to be Ar'stot in disguise. Ar'stot stood tall in his true form: a winged, dragon-like devil skinned in emerald green scales. Choking Rolen, Arstot demanded the dragon orb artifact returned to him for his dragon queen. Rolen shifted into a cave bear which popped out the stakes holding the tent. The party laid into the now canvas smothered abershai. During the scuffle, Arstot was able to open the flatbox and gather the dragon orb. Using its magic, he recolored one of his defectors at Shiftgate and created a hallucinatory terrain of the Sanctum of Tiamat. Seznic shared a few rumors from about the Scorch in his research and shared a myth about Arikhet. Rolen surveyed the Long Stride as an eagle and estimated its spread southward in the coming days. Chenval, still recovering from undead, surveyed the area now blanketed with a thin layer of Scorch sand. Hope, anticipating Azriel’s demise, swore patronage to the zebrine unicorn.   After a small assemblage and debate, the Shields prepared for their pyrrhic expedition into the Scorch. It was decided that Hope, Rolen, Aesyn, Danja, Matine, Callay, Sharna, and the three survivors from Brynk would commit to sealing away the Scorch to the best of their ability. The rest: Wayt, Daedel, Chenval, Joden, A’quilo, and the rest of the Shields would defend Sentynel from the oncoming apocalypse. Sentynel expects a garrison of Zariel’s devils to bolster the fort during the heavy bombardment. Steeling themselves in body and mind, the chosen embarked into the scorched Long Stride…
