Sentynel
Situated at the bottom of the Long Stride, Sentynel is a tiny township carved around the eponymous hill and fort situated at its pinnacle. Demographics of Sentynel are almost purely human with few other races feeling at ease in this hot and arid environment.
Established during the Elven Empire's original conquest of Oren, the now dilapidated fort served as a forward operating base near a strategic lookout and source of fresh water. The base remained occupied for two years before troops repositioned to take settlements north of the desert.
Hundreds of years later, the land around Sentynel has dried up with the poaching of its zebroid unicorn protector, Chenval. Recent occupants of the site are attempting to revive the fort for an oncoming threat.
