Brynk

One of the last bastions from the Scorched Sea, Brynk is a fairly new settlement near the coast built from necessity. The redoubt is situated in a sizable crater; it's rim offering natural fortifications from scorch storms and demons hordes. Demographics in its walls are shockingly diverse compared to the rest of Cabochon. Nearly all that find themselves in Brynk for any extended stay must take up arms as a militia dispatching oncoming threats both domestic and infernal.

Ruin

Towards the end of winter of 6 AH, the 'Brynksmen' were finally thwarted by a large contingent of demons. Its thought that since its fall, Brynk has served as a fortress for a cabal of demon worshipers. Brynk served as the last thread connecting the Low Road; with its capture, the Low Road is finally severed.

Government

Brynk has no formal governance and instead acts as a fort and trading post. No empire has dared to claim it, in fear that its inevitable loss will tarnish their name.

Geography

Debate continues on the nature of Brisk crater from which Brynk sits. A large aquifer found directly below the city suggests a meteorite crater, though no iron ore has ever been surveyed on the site.   Brisk Crater had always been a curiosity of travelers along the Low Road. Perplexingly, the crater's bottom sits under an untapped aquifer and was previously named for the singular well dug at its center whose icy water chilled passersby. Now, this geographic feature offers protection to those escaping or fighting the Scorch's heralds.
