RPG System
Fallout 76 is a great game but it does not allow for a player to do everything we would like to be able to do in order to express ourselves during roleplay. For this reason we use the //official Fallout 2d20 system made by Modiphius Entertainment// for our role-play to both encourage play and creativity.
Rules modifications to the Fallout 2d20 book for VARP purposes
Please see //the Changes to 2d20 Rules article// for details on limitations and divergences from the 2d20 ruleset that we use for Virtual Action Roleplay.

Character Equipment
All equipment that characters use during RP scenarios must be non-legendary and uphold //Uniform Regulations//
It is important to note that //Uniform Regulations// apply at all times, even outside of RP scenarios during normal play.
As a rule of thumb you want your character to have one long gun or heavy weapon, one sidearm or large melee weapon, and an optional small melee weapon.
Explosives and explosive weapons are issued out to explosive specialists or during special cases only. You must be assigned these weapons by your squad leader during RP sessions.
Character death
If someone is downed or killed in a session in Fallout 76 the standard protocol is to respawn (or get stimmed and crouch if simply downed) at the location where the character was downed or killed, crouch and resolve damage as described in the damage and healing section of the //Changes to 2d20 Rules// article.
If a character is killed in a roleplaying session they are considered killed in action and a new character must be rolled up to continue play. Life is harsh in the wasteland and this ultimate consequence should inspire caution in all new players, it is a very serious thing that can affect even the oldest characters.
