Ridgemont Redrose

Fit and bulky the callouses upon his rough hands bear witness to his many years of hard work.

Ridgemont, named after the Mountain Ridge over looking his Home Farm, was born to Marilla and Harlane Redrose, owners of a Horse Stead near Old Oak, a Town in the North of the Reach. Along him grew up two Brothers, Pendler and Merz and his Sister Alcina. Ridgemont being the second youngest behind Merz.   His early Years were set upon learning Riding, Horse Breed, Horse Treatment, ect. His family had owned that Farm even before the Targaryan Conquest, atleast his Father would like to say so. His mother was from a Small-time Merchant Family in Old Oak.   It was when he became 13 that his parents became desperate. He was unruly, only getting worse with the Years. It was when he was 16 and Drunk in the City, that he started a Fight with the Wrong People.   His group of Friends had instigated a Fist Fight with some boys from the Neighborhood and although they lost, as Ridgemonts bloodied face was evident of, the Boys weren't done with them just yet.   A Week later in the dead of night, a Fire had broken out in the Barn, the cries of the Horses waking the Family and having them run out. In the ensuring confusion and panic, horses running amok and the Fire Spreading, it had taken a while until it was noticed that Alcina was missing.   They spread out through the near Countryside and Ridgemont ran into the Forest. The cries of his Mother making him run back towards the Stead. The sight was horrifying. Within the Arms of Pendler laid Alcina, bloodied and Clothes torn.   A couple Months later, Ser Ball came by the Stead. His Horse was getting old and he seeked a Good Stallion. His Father had sat with Ser Ball for a hours. Ridgemont never knew what was spoken there, only when his Father came up to him and demanded he get going. He was sending him off with Ser Ball to become his Squire. Of course he refused at first but his Father wouldn't stop relenting. His departing gift was a Black Palfrey.   At the Age of 16 he became a Squire. The, possibly, oldest Squire in History. A fact that he hates to reveal.   For 3 Years he followed Ser Ball around. He learnt what it meant to be a Man, to take responsibility and to Fight. But he never learnt to think twice about a situation. Not until he was out in the Countryside, Ser Ball told him to hunt for himself to test his skills. It was here that a man stopped him, asking for help. His belongings were lost and he asked Ridgemont for help to find it. It was when he was surrounded that he knew, it wasn't the Man's belongings that would go missing. He fought with all the furocity that he could but half a dozen enemies was simply too much, it would be here that he gained the Three Scars upon the side of his Head. Ser Ball soon found him, bloodied and robbed upon the Street, after he had gone missing for some hours. He would never forget his Words "Ridgemont. You're one hell of a Fool".   Eventhough he had never forgiven himself for what happened to his Sister, he was determined to help prevent exactly that again   The rest, as they say, is history.

Besides the education he received as a squire to see Quentyn Ball, Ridgemont also knows much about handling and breeding horses.

After being employed for 3 years as a squire to Fireball, Ridgemont was knighted and quickly found service in the household of Lord Leo Tyrell.

Ridgemont is married in a matrimonial union to Lady Shana Canaris, the sister of the Lord Paramount of Dorne, with whom he has four children.
