Lady Shana Canaris and her brother Lord Damien Canaris were two of the dornish nobles that took part in the Great Blackfyre Rebellion at the side of the Black Dragon. For her service she was awarded a track of lands and a keep bordering the Scourge river. She was the only female contestant in The King's Tourney of 197 held by King Daemon Blackfyre, she was defeated on her first match of the melee by a merchant commoner by the name of Otho Tentowers and at the Jousting managed to unhorse Lord Brandon Stark on the first pass, but was unhorsed herself by the runner up, famous jouster Lord Leo Tyrell of High Garden. At 199 AC Shana married Ridgemont Redrose, with whom she has two sons: Calle and Erryk. At the joust held in Sunspear to celebrate the wedding of Lord Martell's daughter to Lady Meria Uller's brother Shana was victorious unhorsing all the competition.
