Felldion

Felldion, the capital of Scania, is a city where time itself feels forged into steel. From the outside, its massive circular walls and medieval bastions stand as a reminder of Scania’s resilience against the bitter northern cold. But stepping inside reveals something entirely different: a living machine of steam, gears, and clockwork innovation. Trains whistle through the snowy streets, brass pipes vent warmth into the air, and vast foundries churn ceaselessly, each a reflection of Felldion’s devotion to progress. Udos, god of Time, is honored here more than anywhere else in Nineveh. The people believe that to master machines is to master time itself, and so every clocktower, gear, and steam engine serves as both utility and worship.   Felldion’s society mirrors the mechanisms it reveres. The lower districts, dominated by laborers and factories, are the city’s driving engine. Above them, the middle class balances luxury and practicality, thriving on innovation. At the highest levels sit nobles and King Ronald Ambers VIII himself, where old-world traditions meet modern mastery of time. To the Scanian people, Felldion isn’t just a capital, it’s a living testament to their god. In a world frozen by endless winter, Felldion moves ever forward, never letting the cold or the years slow it down.

Demographics

Snow elves, dwarves, goliaths, frost giants, orcs, polarbearfolk, humans, and a significant number of warforged, seen as sacred creations representing Udos’ mastery over time and labor.

Government

A hereditary monarchy supported by an Industrial Council and the Chrono-node, a religious order of Udos that oversees timekeeping, labor cycles, and technological “ethics” to ensure machines honor their god.

Defences

Iron walls inscribed with temporal runes that slow projectiles and weaken attackers, steam-powered artillery, and warforged patrols directed by the Chrono-node. Frost giants guard the outer perimeter, while trains can be converted into mobile weapon platforms.

Industry & Trade

Exports firearms, warforged, and clockwork devices revered as “Timeforged Creations.” Imports food from other nations, as Scania’s frozen climate prevents agriculture.

Infrastructure

Steam-powered trains connect the capital to every corner of Scania. Clocktowers run by the Chrono-node keep perfect time across the city, synchronized by magical artifacts said to be gifts from Udos himself. Factories and foundries dominate the lower tiers, while noble quarters at the top balance ancient architecture with innovations like heated streets and mechanical lifts.

Assets

  • The Chronotrain Network, allowing rapid travel across Scania.
  • The Gearworks, producing firearms, clockwork constructs, and war machines.
  • The Chronotower, a monument and magical timepiece powered by Udos’ blessing.
  • Deep trade ties with Hugo City for raw materials and advanced tech.
  • Devoted engineers and artificers seen as “time’s chosen.”

History

Felldion began as a refuge from the northern cold but became a city dedicated to Udos after priests claimed the god walked the site, declaring it a “pivot of the world’s clock.” Over centuries, alliances with Hugo City transformed it into Nineveh’s hub of technology and faith in progress. The people believe every invention is an offering to Udos, pushing back against winter’s stagnation.
