Asmodeus Velastra

Asmodeus is a well-built yet strikingly elegant man someone whose refined appearance might mislead others into thinking he isn’t capable of holding his own in a fight. His features carry a graceful beauty: rounded ears, golden-yellow eyes, and soft brown hair that falls neatly to his jawline.   Most distinctive of all are the two halo-like rings of red energy encircling each of his biceps, glowing subtly.

Asmodeus was born into the prestigious Velastra family, whose legacy includes founding the Velastra Holy Tempest Arts, a martial discipline now widely taught throughout the kingdom and used by the military, royal guard, and elite units. His father serves as the current master of the dojo, and many members of the family his two older brothers and his older sister included hold significant positions in the armed forces thanks to their martial talent and leadership.   From an early age, everyone around him expected Asmodeus to follow the same path. The pressure was constant teachers, relatives, and even strangers compared him to his father and siblings, insisting that he had “big shoes to fill.” The Velastra household valued discipline, reverence, and perfect presentation, which meant he was always expected to act proper and well-mannered, no matter how he actually felt.   All of this left Asmodeus feeling trapped and stifled. He wanted to prove he could stand as his own person equal to or greater than his family’s expectations, but not defined by them. He refused to simply become another Velastra soldier walking in someone else’s shadow.   To carve out a life under his own name, Asmodeus chose to become an adventurer alongside his best friend, Raphael. He seeks strength, recognition, and the thrill of exploring the world. He wants to rise to the top not just to prove he can, but because the freedom and adventure call to him far more than a predetermined destiny ever could.

Asmodeus had private tutors for every part of his education but combat martial arts skills and military knowledge and skills. He was taught that by his parents and his siblings they drilled in the family arts and now as well as basic etiquette and how a soldier acted   When Asmodeus turned sixteen, he began training alongside his best friend, Raphael. While Raphael received basic combat instruction and learned to wield a sword and shield, Asmodeus focused on mastering the bow and arrow. Both of them trained under soldiers stationed on the grounds, learning martial techniques and developing their respective combat styles.

He held no official position, but he often accompanied either his father or mother on missions to gain field experience taking part in hunting down bandits, clearing monsters, and assisting with other duties of the Twilight Kingdom Guard.

Father — Zachariah Velastra   Zachariah sees immense potential in Asmodeus, but he is disappointed in the path his son chose. He doesn’t mind Asmodeus learning various techniques, yet firmly believes he should serve directly within the Kingdom. The only reason Zachariah hasn’t pushed harder is because Asmodeus still chose a role that supports the Twilight Kingdom. He also has little patience for Asmodeus’s joking, playful personality.   Mother — Amber Velastra   Amber loves her son dearly, but wishes he would take his martial arts talent more seriously and join the kingdom’s defense forces. She believes he should put away his “silly little bow” and embrace his full combat potential. She does enjoy his sense of humor when it’s used at the right time and place. Sometimes she smiles at his antics; other times she scolds him harshly for them.   Eldest Brother — Balthazar Velastra   Balthazar is the pride of the family, having fully mastered the Velastra Holy Tempest Arts and risen to Commander of the Royal Guard. To him, Asmodeus is still a mischievous little brother who pulls far too many pranks. He insists Asmodeus must “shape up” to properly represent both their family and their martial school.   Elder Sister — Bellatrix Velastra   Bellatrix is a top-tier fighter currently serving in a special operations unit whose missions are largely classified. Their parents are extremely proud of her achievements. She sees Asmodeus as her troublesome little brother who is always up to something. Even though he has landed a few solid hits during sparring with her team, she believes he’s still nowhere near her level.   Youngest Elder Brother — Beelzebub Velastra   Beelzebub recently joined the military after completing his training. He sympathizes deeply with Asmodeus and hopes his younger brother succeeds where he himself could not. Resisting the overwhelming pressure of their family’s expectations. Quietly proud of Asmodeus for staying true to himself, he supports him whenever he can, though not openly out of fear of drawing attention. Still, Asmodeus knows that if he were ever in real danger or serious trouble, Beelzebub would be there without hesitation.

Asmodeus is naturally energetic, often wearing a bright, mischievous smile. The moment an idea pops into his head whether for fun, adventure, or simple entertainment he’s already leading the way. With a mild trickster streak, he enjoys harmless pranks and playful teasing, never malicious but always spirited.   Despite his carefree, happy-go-lucky demeanor, Asmodeus is surprisingly dedicated and hardworking. It’s easy to overlook his discipline until training begins then he falls completely silent, hyper-focused. Against an opponent, that focus blends with his playful nature, creating a strange but effective mix of seriousness and spirited creativity.   Even in pain, he manages a smile, usually playing it off as a joke. But beneath that grin lies a quiet fire and a hint of sadness. No matter what he faces or how much it hurts, Asmodeus keeps moving forward.
