Celestial

Basic Information

Anatomy

Celestials resemble elves in build tall, slender, and graceful but carry an even more elegant and ethereal appearance. Their skin tones are typically pale or light, with hair and eyes in hues of silver, gold, white, or soft pastels. They have round ears. Celestials possess the presence of halos: glowing rings of pure energy that naturally manifest around a part of the body, such as above the head, around the arms, encircling the waist, or even near ankles. Each celestial’s halo placement is unique A rare and distinctive trait bird-like feathered wings, though wing size and number vary by individual.

Biological Traits

Celestials are naturally attuned to healing and supportive magic. Their mana flows in harmony with their bodies, often manifesting without incantation.
  • Healing Affinity: Most celestials instinctively learn restorative magic, mending wounds or easing pain with minimal training.
  • Aura Enhancement: When channeling magic into their bodies — to enhance speed, strength, or endurance — their halos glow brightly, serving as a visible sign of power.
  • Iris Shift: When actively using mana, the color of their irises glows or changes, reflecting the type or intensity of energy they are channeling.

Growth Rate & Stages

  • Infancy (0–8 years): Fragile and dependent on parents, often showing faint halo glimmers from birth.
  • Youth (9–40 years): Curious and eager, beginning to experiment with magic and flight (if winged). Halos stabilize in this stage.
  • Adolescence (41–100 years): Physical maturity begins, with natural healing powers and aura control strengthening rapidly. Many enter structured training.
  • Adulthood (101–350 years): Prime years of balance, grace, and magical skill. Their wings and halos are at full strength, and most devote themselves to artistry, philosophy, or service to others.
  • Elderhood (351–400 years): Aging slows them physically, but their wisdom and magical mastery remain. Their halos often shine brighter with accumulated experience.

Ecology and Habitats

Celestials can live anywhere, but they prefer open skies and sunlit regions. Plains, highlands, and mountain ranges are common homes, where they can feel the wind and sun without obstruction. Their settlements often feature tall spires, open courtyards, and elevated sanctuaries that blend with the horizon.

Behaviour

Celestials embody strong emotions and curiosity, often balancing elegance with passion.
  • Inquisitive: They are driven to learn, question, and seek out beauty or meaning.
  • Passionate: Their emotions are vibrant and expressed openly, whether in joy, sorrow, or love.
  • Empathetic: Many are drawn to heal, protect, or guide others, though this sometimes makes them vulnerable to manipulation.
Despite their angelic appearances, celestials are not divine beings, but mortal. Their personalities are varied and colorful, shaped by emotion rather than perfection.
