The Ring
The Ring is a common name for the zone around Aureole's equator, which is where the planet is most habitable. The ring is the location for most of Aureole's population, as it is simply the easiest place to live for humans. The ring is fairly wide, mainly due to The Shatter reflecting and refracting light further south than the light otherwise would reach. This means that a large part of the ring's light is coloured in every conceivable colour.
Obviously, the more north you go, the warmer the ring is, and the further south you go, the colder it is.
Geography
The Ring is home to a wide range of geographical features. To the east, in The Neekholim Republic , the Vaeg Mountains rise tall.
In central Aureole, in The Crown Territories , the land is relatively flat, with few mountains. There are plenty of rolling hills, however, accompanied by grasslands, plains, and forests galore. The Remnant Peak looms just south of Crown City , offering protection from The Constant .
To the west lies Mahk-Den Ja , located on flat, swampy terrain.
The Ocean around the Ring is warm, but not so warm as to be inhabitable to most common creatures, like it is in some parts of Sunside Aureole .
Ecosystem
Generally, creatures in the ring are less hostile and aggressive, compared to their counterparts in other parts of the world. There are, naturally, still predators and prey, but the less harsh environment and climate has bred less vicious animals and other organisms.
Natural Resources
The Ring is rich in natural resources in many categories. It has plenty of wood, from its vast forests, as well as a lot of resources underground to be extracted.
