Obsidian Steel Weapons Forging

Forged from the rarest obsidian steel and imbued with ancient Crai’Gai resonance cores, the Mordos family weapons are more than just tools of war — they are living entities, bonded to their wielders on a soul-deep level. Each weapon has a distinct personality, voice, and will, communicating freely with its master and, in many cases, developing quirks, preferences, and rivalries with other weapons in the family.   These weapons are not passive artifacts — they argue, advise, joke, scream in battle, and share in the triumphs and failures of their wielders.

The Craft

Forging obsidian steel enchanted weapons is a secret technology and tradition kept only by King Eremon Mordos himself. Known as the Crai'Gai Forgemaster - he uses obsidian - a fragile but sharp in texture special ore, found in the Northern Region of Asiendal, specifically in the Outer Winter sub region. He gathers the ore himself, melts it and pours it into a mold of a specific weapon. After the obsidian is poured into the mold, it takes its shape - be a sword, a spear or a staff, bow, daggers and even in rare cases - armor. While that is happening, Eremon is pouring Crai'Gai tempered mana into the mix alongside an ancient runic stone from 70 000 years ago, to strengthen it - beyond breaking. Without it - the weapon would simply snap under the mana pressure and its own light frame. After a day of pouring mana into the weapon, Eremon flares his Crai'Gai to the max - lighting his Forge all green - bright as a day and he pours Grandos Mana into the weapon, imbuing it with an unbreaking enchant. He then pours a potion of Dragon's Tears onto the weapon, which in return - absorbs every last drop - the mixture and final product being able to cut through anything - time and space and even gravity if the user is strong enough.   As a final touch - he uses a strand of hair (or any other small form of personal dna) of the person, who the weapon will belong to - then he finetunes the connection between the weapon and the strand of hair to create the weapon's sentience. Each weapon is finetuned to be as close as possible in personality to its future wielder. He then whispers the name of the weapon/s and they hum to life.

Example Weapons:

Yuki’s Axe – Fuyushimo
Meaning: “Winter Frost”   Personality: Calm, cold, dignified. Speaks rarely but with poetic, cutting wisdom.   Fuyushimo: “When the frost falls, blood will freeze. Shall we, Mistress?”   Special Trait: Every strike carries a frostbite effect, chilling enemies and slowing their movements. Used as a master level frost spell casting focus, can cast spells on its own.
Evelyn’s Spear & Shield – Azyn & Vaenorr
Meaning: “Dawn and Dusk” (in Ancient Asiendalian)   Azyn (Spear): Witty, sharp-tongued, loves banter and speed kills.   Azyn: “Point me at the next skull, and let’s make it quick.”   Vaenorr (Shield): Stoic and protective, balancing Azyn’s recklessness.   Vaenorr: “You do realize you’d get her killed twice a week if I wasn’t here.”   Special Trait: When wielded together, Evelyn goes into a perfect balance state - where one weapon makes the other stronger, without any drawbacks, the more she blocks with Vaenorr - the stronger Azyn will hit afterwards and vice versa.
Vionna’s Shortsword – Moednarr
Meaning: “Midnight” (in Ancient Asiendalian)   Personality: Quiet, eerie, whispering in her mind rather than speaking aloud. Its presence is felt more than heard, like a shadow following her steps.   Moednarr: “…They will not see the end coming. That is mercy.”   Special Trait: Moednarr ignores any disadvantage in darkness, underwater and/or space, as well as phases through solid objects, ignoring reality, allowing Vionna to bypass obstacles with perfect precision.
Sellina’s Twin Blades – Shienn & Kaenn
Meaning: “Fate and Defiance” (in Ancient Asiendalian)   Shienn: Wild, fiery, bloodthirsty — revels in chaos.   Shienn: “FASTER! HARDER! CUT THE WORLD IN HALF!”   Kaenn: Cold, precise, surgical — the quiet executioner.   Kaenn: “The heart is two inches lower. Do not miss.”   Special Trait: While Sellina grows stronger the longer she fights, her Crai’Gai resonance amplifying their cutting power to eventually turn them white hot instead of the black steel, they can cut through stars, black holes and even fate itself. Ignoring the laws of physics, magic and reality.
Markus’ Shield – Dennra
Meaning: “The Wall” (in Ancient Asiendalian)   Personality: Deep-voiced, stoic, but dramatic. Secretly enjoys the tension of near-breaks.   The Wall: “Brace yourself. If I crack, make sure it looks spectacular.”   Special Trait: Can block autonomously and nothing can pierce it, even god-tier or planet killing attacks — but that transfers some of the impact force to Markus (he tanks it).
Hanabi’s Axe – Bruttvaenn
Meaning: “Bloodrage” (in Ancient Asiendalian)   Personality: Loud, rowdy, thrives on carnage and destruction.   Bruttvaenn: “HIT IT AGAIN! HIT IT UNTIL IT STOPS MOVING!”   Special Trait: Heals Hanabi for a portion of damage dealt when raging, making her stronger with each absorb.
Alexander’s Greatsword – Vorynn
Meaning: “Oathkeeper” (from Old Asiendalian)   Personality: Deeply honorable, formal, with a knightly tone.   Vorynn: “Steel must be tested. Hold fast, and do not falter.”   Special Trait: Perfect counterattacks. When Alexander parries, Vorynn can unleash a devastating riposte strike that ignores resistances.
Nevianna’s Handwraps – Noell & Zoell
Meaning: “Hit and be Hit” (from Old Asiendalian)   Appearance: Sleek, reinforced wrappings resembling fingerless gloves, glowing faintly with crimson light when Crai’Gai is active.   Noell: Playful, taunting, loves provoking both Nev and her opponents.   Noell: “C’mon, hit harder — I want to feel something break.”   Zoell: Cold, sadistic, whispering cruel encouragements.   Zoell: “Pain is how we know we’re alive. Bleed more, little girl.”   Special Trait: Copycat’s Echo – Just like their wielder, Noell & Zoell can replicate the form of any weapon they see - allowing her even more versatility when she fights.
Eremon’s Weapons – Nyyrgull & Rynn
Meaning: “Demonslayer and Hope” (from Old Asiendalian)   Nyyrgull (Longsword): Veteran, wise, patient — speaks like an old comrade who has seen too many wars.   Nyyrgull: “You grip me like the old days. Good. Let’s make them remember why you’re king.”   Rynn (Spear): Playful, spirited, thrives in battle.   Rynn: “Ahhh, Twin Soul time? My favorite dance.”   Special Trait: Both weapons can shapeshift into any weapon type, can enlarge or make themselves little, can make their blades longer and can bend without breaking. Both weapons can absorb souls of slain enemies and use them as mana.
