Asiendalian Chants
Overview
The Asiendalian Chants — known collectively as the Vorrads — are sacred war cries, vows, and calls of unity that every citizen learns from childhood. They are shouted in unison by the Kingdom’s armies before battle, sung at tournaments, and invoked during moments of triumph or grief. When performed together by millions, the sound of the chants can shake the earth, empower Asiendalian magic through Divinity resonance, and strike terror into the hearts of the Kingdom’s enemies. The Ten Great Chants
Chant & Translation & Meaning & Context
- VOR ASIENDALIS == For Asiendal! == The most iconic of all chants. Spoken before battle, whispered in prayer, shouted from city walls. The heartbeat of the Kingdom.
- VOR NERES VERN == For Our Brethren! == A vow of unity and loyalty to allies. Used to rally comrades, defend friends, or stand together in dire moments.
- VOR GAIDDOS == For Glory! == The cry of champions. Shouted during tournaments, duels, and moments of personal triumph.
- VOR VIENMEAR == For Prosperity! == Chanted at harvest festivals, royal decrees, or times of great building and innovation. A promise to build a brighter future.
- VOR LAN BARRADH == For Eternity! == A sacred oath. Spoken at funerals and in suicide charges. A vow to fight until death and beyond.
- VOR KUENNGENR == For The King! == The cry of loyalty. When the army shouts this at Eremon’s arrival, it is said the earth itself trembles.
- VOR MUENNAER == For Our Mothers! == A deeply emotional chant, honoring the women who raised, nurtured, and protected the kingdom.
- VOR VUETTNAER == For Our Fathers! == A cry of legacy, vengeance, and pride in ancestry. Often used when avenging a fallen comrade.
- BARRAED MOERRDER == KILL THEM ALL! == The most terrifying chant, reserved for wars of annihilation. When this is heard, Asiendal’s mercy has ended.
- ASIENDALIS VARRUS == Asiendal Prevails! == The victory cry. Shouted three times after battles, promising that Asiendal will always stand.
Cultural Importance
The Chants are more than words — they are ritual magic. When shouted in unison, they synchronize the Divinity Ranks of the army, bolstering strength, speed, courage, and magical output. Some Asiendalian historians claim that entire sieges have been won by morale alone after the enemy heard VOR ASIENDALIS echo across the horizon.Ceremonial Use
Military: Recited in sequence before a war march. Royal Events: Performed during coronations, weddings, and births of royal heirs. Mourning: VOR LAN BARRADH is whispered at funerals, followed by a solemn ASIENDALIS VARRUS — a promise that the fallen will live on through the Kingdom.Example – The War March
Excerpt from the Battle of Oblivion’s Gate
The Juggernauts stood in perfect formation, shields locked. The air was still. Then, as one, they roared: “VOR ASIENDALIS!” The ground shook. The enemy froze. “VOR NERES VERN!” The sound grew louder, like a drumbeat of thunder. “VOR GAIDDOS!” The sky seemed to vibrate. Then came the final call, shouted with voices as one: “ASIENDALIS VARRUS!” And the Juggernauts charged.
