Balor

Until the last decade, Balor has been a mysterious landscape obscured by its sheer cliffs and the Domed Barrier that had prevented any two way travel or reliable observation. Adding to the mystery, it has been known for nearly a century now that the entire, massive island is artificially created.   While the Domed Barrier has fallen, many questions still remain about the island's unusual existence. The barrier's origin was never discovered, nothing exists indicating how it fell, and no clues have been unearthed as to how the island was raised.   Balor exists now as a place out of touch with the rest of the world. Unique life, strange landscapes, and the presence of sentient life once thought to be extinct have made Balor a beautiful and exquisite place. Deterring many from experiencing this wonderful land is the population. Though several kingdoms of a diverse range of sentients exist, they're unadvanced, iron-age cultures turn away many, viewing it as backwater and filthy.
