Boks Background and Angulos Family History
As a young orc Bok proved himself a skilled hunter and powerfull warrior. He was known as quiet and contemplative. Preferring the quiet of the forest to the bustle of the town. Despite this he was very charimsatic and many in the village respected his patient approach. The previous chief was growing old and Bok was put nominated to challenge for the title. After besting the previous chief in all of the trials Bok was crowned chief of the Blackrock Tribe. Soon after his ascention, he lead a trading party to Arella. Gorthoks Haven was low on metal supplies. The party continued south to Siabasso and on their way they ran into a merchant and his daughter. They traveled with the pair for a couple days where Bok found himself falling for the clever and whitty woman this was Liliane De Luca The night before arriving in Siabasso the party learned that she was in fact a slave and was being abused by the man. In line with the tennants of Dramalish the Untamed and out of anger Bok slew the merchant and promptly freed Liliane De Luca.
Unsure of what to do with the woman he offered her a place at his side during the parties travels. The group of orcs found all the supplies of the flatlands they needed in Siabasso and began the return trip to Gorthoks Haven. The rest of the party were trusted and loyal members of the tribe, including Sol Halfblade and Shak Hammerthok. They brought Bok aside when the party were drinking their last night in Arella away. They reminded him that the mountains were no place for pinkskins and to be careful about his infatuation with this woman. Bok understood but he asked her to return to the town with him anyway. She agreed to come to the mountains.
This was the happiest Bok had been, he thrived as a chieftan with Liliane De Luca at his side. She had a knack for numbers and people that few possessed, let alone orcs who are not generally known for their artithmetical skills. Five years passed and while the tribe thrived it was clear to all who knew her that something was up with Liliane. She had managed the harsh winters and mistrustful gaze of the other villagers. She seemed happy enough outwardly, and established occasional trade with the other tribes and human settlements on either side of the Spine of the World. Inwardly and to her friends and family there was a sadness lurking. She eventually told Bok that she had to return to the flatlands and find her father. She had been taken nearly 7 years prior and she needed to let him know she had been freed and was safe. Never one to interfere with his love, he let her go not expecting her to return for some time.
Bok was less without Liliane, his tolerence of the town was lessened and he spend more time in the forests than he did running the villiage. Then one blustery winter night, only months after Liliane left, a figure appeared at the villiage gates. It was a season even the heartiest eastern Goliath would not dare venture out in, and yet she had returned. She carried a bundle in her arms: a baby, the chiefs son. She stayed but for the night and after conferring with Bok and Sol Halfblade she reuinited with her love and disappeared with the dawn, leaving only the baby behind.
He struggled raising the child, he was angry Liliane had left and the child only made the anger worse, he reminded Bok of his partner who was gone. His short temper made him afraid to get to close to his son and parented with an aloof and detached appraoch prefering ice to fire. As the child grew he was very small for orc standards and his pale skin and short tusks were easy targets for the other children. The same look could be seen in the youths eyes that his mother possessed before her departure. When Bok was summoned to a meeting of chiefs by Gramvukk the Infernal he brought his closest friend and advisor with him Sol Halfblade. Not long before arriving in Gruk'gash Grish'ak the capital of the Sabertooth Clan, Sol had a vision from Shomari the Wise and Dramalish the Untamed that said for the future of the tribe the chiefs son must make his own way in the world. He had been too long confined in the town and must leave. The meeting was supposed to be a meeting discussing raiding policy on flatlanders and other mountain tribes. There were complaints of unfounded retaliatiory strikes from hobgoblin fortresses. There was lots anti pinkskin sentiment amongst many of the other tribes. That combined with the vision prompted Bok to send his son and only connection to the love of his life away.
The chief got worse after his son left. His temper now had no reason to stay in check and he woud quickly lash out against any who inconvenienced him. The policiy of isolationism that the Blackrock Tribe had followed was taken to the extreme. Fearing war with the humans based on the words of the other warchiefs Bok had Gorthoks Haven fortified and issued a training scheme for all able bodied members of the tribe. That was when he was actually in the villiage. He spent more and more time away in the deep mountains hunting the great beasts that dwell there.
Fed up with parinoia and his regular absences the villiage council nominated Shak Hammerthok to run against Bok for the chieftenship.
