The Creation of Torgurat
Torgurat's emergence into the world was as unique as it was powerful. Born not from the prayers or beliefs of mortals but from the primal forces of nature, his existence was heralded by the first winds that swept through the nascent valleys of the young world. Unlike the other non-primordial gods who needed belief to sustain or empower them, Torgurat's essence was inherently tied to the very weather of the world. He appeared as a fully grown adult, his form shrouded in clouds and perpetually surrounded by gale-force winds. His eyes, dark and stormy, reflected his intrinsic connection to the turbulent elements. Standing at an imposing 10 feet 8 inches, his bald head and tanned golden brown skin gave him an almost ethereal yet formidable presence. As Torgurat settled into this world, he joined forces with other prime deities to form the Primordial Pantheon. This collective was essential to the world's very existence, each member embodying a fundamental aspect of the natural order. Together, they guided the proto-elves who worshipped them, each deity contributing to the flourishing of the early world. During this harmonious period, Torgurat found himself particularly drawn to Ulmatar, the goddess of the earth. Her dominion over the mountains, valleys, jungles, and plains resonated deeply with Torgurat, whose winds carved out the very valleys she nurtured. Their bond grew stronger as they worked together, and soon, it blossomed into a profound union.Union with Ulmatar
The union between Torgurat and Ulmatar marked the first divine marriage within the pantheon, symbolizing the harmony between the sky and the earth. Their partnership was a source of great joy for Torgurat, who found immense satisfaction in working alongside his wife. Together, they sought to provide the best possible existence for their worshippers, guiding the proto-elves with wisdom and care. The valleys carved by Torgurat's winds became fertile grounds under Ulmatar's nurturing touch, creating lush landscapes that supported thriving communities. From their union came many divine offspring, each embodying aspects of their parents' domains. These children further enriched the pantheon's influence over the world, contributing to the prosperity and balance of the natural order. Torgurat and Ulmatar's partnership was not just a personal bond but a foundational pillar for the early world, as their combined efforts shaped the lives of those who worshipped them. The Breaking of the Primordial Pantheon
The idyllic times of the Primordial Pantheon could not last forever. Discontent began to simmer within the pantheon, causing unease among the gods. Torgurat, with his ability to sense the winds of change, was particularly troubled. The winds carried whispers of infernal magic from the north, a foul stench that Torgurat could not ignore. When he conferred with Ulmatar, they found that the earth, too, reported the same disturbances. However, before they could fully investigate these ominous signs, the First Infernal Invasion erupted. Demons and devils surged into the world, attacking the proto-elven empire with ferocious intensity. The gods and their creations fought tirelessly against the invaders, but the effort was monumental, and the cost was high. The proto-elven empire collapsed, never to rise again, and eventually, the proto-elves themselves vanished. The strain of the battle and the loss of their worshippers fractured the Primordial Pantheon. Torgurat and Ulmatar, seeking to rebuild and find a new purpose, left the remnants of their divine kin and journeyed to claim the lush land that would become Oggurd Mul.Father of the Orcs
In Oggurd Mul, Torgurat and Ulmatar sought to create a new race that would embody the best of their aspects and fulfil their needs. Thus, the orcs were born. Initially, the orcs were divided into small clans, each paying homage to the gods. During this time, the first of Torgurat and Ulmatar's true children were born. Aggra, the maiden of death, was the first, maturing quickly as divine beings do. Not long after, their first son, Shomat, the Seer God, came into existence. These divine children helped guide the orcish beliefs and culture alongside their parents. As the orcish society developed, the goddess Gara was born to the couple, representing fertility. Over time, she also took on the domains of lust and marriage. The family continued to grow as Aggra bore a son, Udrok, the trickster god, rumoured to be fathered by a mortal. Gara married Grumush, a god born from the orc's warlike beliefs, and they had two children: Genalurg, the god of slavery, and Morlug, the god of the desert. During this period, the Empire of Oggurd Mul was declared, with Krusk the Uniter becoming the first king, symbolizing the height of orcish unity and strength. Absence In the years following Krusk the Uniter's death, the Empire of Oggurd Mul grew increasingly corrupt. Slavery and oppression became rampant, leading to great discord within the neighbouring lands. Torgurat watched with dismay as the empire he had helped establish began to falter. The death of his son, Shomat, at the hands of a plot orchestrated by Udrok, and the subsequent demise of his grandson, Genalurg, during a slave revolt, were the final straws. Genalurg, unworthy of his divine status, had tried to quell the revolt through sheer brutality, only to be overpowered by the very slaves he sought to dominate. His death marked a turning point in the empire's decline. Disillusioned by the failures and flaws he perceived in mortals, Torgurat withdrew from the world. The death of Shomat had warped the land, and the complete success of the slave revolts shattered the empire's power. Believing that all mortals were inherently flawed and unworthy of his aid, Torgurat vanished. His location has remained unknown since, and he became known as the Absent God, a distant and forgotten deity. A song that I find somewhat relates to himDivine Domains
