What is the Sykon Empire?

The Sykon Empire specialize in making mass produced, cheap, machines, weapons and ships. They will sell anything for the right price to anyone paying enough. The empire's services are often used by pirates, gangs, space raiders, or criminal groups who need weapons, ships or cybernetic enhancements.

The Empire is ruled by not one king or emperor, but by a government of profit driven CEOs, who are the wealthiest, greediest, and slimiest members of the empire. Doing backhand deals with criminals, or betraying allies, the government are ruthless.

Planetary Systems

The Sykon Empire has roughly 33.495 billion suns, scattered over its reign. 82.568 billion planets orbit around suns in the Sykon Empire. Not all suns, however, have orbiting planets, thus meaning some solar systems have multiple planets, ranging from 5 -10, sometimes even more, and there are some other systems with no orbiting planets. Out of those 82 billion planets, on 3.38 billion are habitable. Still a large number, but still very very small, in the grand scheme. Quite a few of these habitable planets could be classed as un-habitable due to all the tera-forming by the Sykon Government, turning the planets into factories that produce millions to billions of products a second, as well as countless amounts of smog and smoke.

The capital planet is Virex, which orbits the sun Icarion. This capital planet is where most of the government leaders reside and give orders from. It is a planet that has been modified, changed and tera to provide a lush and relaxing holiday time.

Sykon Economy

The greed driven economy of the Empire is one that thrives on exports. Selling parts, ships, weapons, gadgets to anyone, is a surefire way to maximize profit and monetary gain. Most of the materials are either mined from their own planets or scavenged from wreckage, further reducing costs and expenditures. Because of such volume of goods produced, most of it isn't good quality, either breaking, exploding or just malfunctioning after a short period of use. This is done on purpose to entice customers to buy products again, once more increasing profit.

Along most borders of the Sykon Empire, reside trading hubs, space stations, and stock brokers, who focus on selling products to customers as quickly, and easily as possible. These trading hubs are bountiful, and attract many criminals and gang members, who are all looking for cheap, weapons.

Relationship to Magic

Most of the Empire are against magic, because they either don't have time for the skill as they want to maximize profit, or they have a deep seated aversion to it, passed on by generations. They believe that magicians and magic users are beneath them, and are conquered with mass production of weapons.

However, some scientists have tried to replicate Gemstones, with little to no success, further strengthening their dislike of magic. As well as fake gemstones, they tried, to no avail, to synthesis Magic Conductive Metal, as they saw it as an opportunity for money, but as always, they failed.
