Theobald III. "Der Gebrochene"
Theobald III., son of Leopold I. "Der Friedvolle" and father to Heinrich II. "der Tyrann" was Holy Emperor of the Holy Empire of Middland.
He was known to be a puppet emperor enabling the high nobility of to take the reins in politics and further reduce the rights of elves in the empire. He felt helpless against his powerful vassals which drove him to depression and finally into a reclusive lifestyle, not engaging in anything other than some obligatory ceremonies.
To this day he is given the blame for the assassination of Eldrin va Vaenyrael during a ball. What nobody knows is that he already succumbed to old age and dead since days and couldn't have killed the elven emissary. But his death was kept a secret until a week after the ball. The actual instigator of the assassination was his son Heinrich II. "der Tyrann".
