Eirin, Firbolg Automath
Eirin is the lone Automath of the Firbolg people. like the Satyr Automath, Skanda, Eirin is said to have emerged from the forest of The Cradle itself, whispering enchantments to the creatures and plants as she went, transforming them into the newly Awakened Firbolgs on the First Day.
Appearing as a tall and powerful Firbolg woman, Eirin has bear-like features mixed into her humanoid frame, with the nose, jaws, ears, and fur of a great brown bear, along with the antlers of an elk. As she whispered to the Firbolgs as they woke, she fed them enchanted honey, which gave them their spirits.
Through worship of Eirin and this origin story, Firbolg people across The Sundered Ring feel a deep attachment to the wildlife of Yorth. Cities were not typically to their liking, so following her lead, they kept to the wilderness areas in the lands that would come to be The Pious Union of the Awakened.
However, when Skanda told the Satyrs that they were the creations of The Archfey along with the Firbolgs and the Gnomes, and led them away to live among the Beastfolk, Eirin could not help but be sympathetic. Though she could not dare to break the hearts of her children by telling them that what Skanda said was true, she encouraged them to go live among the Beastfolk with which they shared so much kinship.
And so, when the Satyrs left for the wilds, most of the Firbolgs did as well. However, as Eirin never contradicted Awakened scripture, she was never labelled a Dissident and thus is still worshipped as a secretive guardian of nature through Union lands. Travelers in the wilderness, especially children at play, hope to meet her and appease her so that she might offer them enchanted honey, while hunters sometimes pray that she is not near to bring her wrath upon those who would kill Yorth's creatures.
Priests and Clerics of Eirin practice the domains of Life, Nature, and Peace.
