Claus Protective Detail
Santa Claus and his wife are both well-known celebrities and magical beings in the Human World. However, their lives are not as well-protected outside of the Kingdom once magic left. There is not only his brother, The Anti-Claus but the other Anti-Christmastide Beings as well as Dark Magic's Spirit and its minions. Because of these dangers outside the Arctic Circle that when either Santa or Mrs. Claus or both leave the Kingdom so too does a group of elves.
We call these elves the Claus Protective Detail (CPD for short). This elite team is responsible for the secuirty of Santa and Mrs. Claus (together The Clauses) whenever both or either one of them venture beyond the secure confines of the Kingdom and Arctic Circle. Why? Because evil exists. Because there are people who want to harm and destroy Santa Claus and The Spirit of Christmas therefore destroying Humanity.
It is critical for this detail to operate secretly.
The main reason is because Santa is important to not only the children but to Humanity in general. A secondary reason is to ensure Santa's Christmas Magic doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
It is critical that when either or both Clauses are outside of the Kingdom, weather it be for business trips or on official visits or during vacations, that they are to be guarded at all times. Both are okay with this. Both know about the dangers they face.
Except for Santa's visits with children.
Because those who are drawn for nefarious purposes to Santa cannot attack when children are around. Children are shields. And this extends to the majority of the Guardians. Many times they (especially in a large group) hide either a Guardians's presence or are too much for evil to handle.
So evil stays far away. And yet, the detail stays close anyways.
By now, the reader is starting to see that not only is Santa ( and Mrs. Claus) a target for evil but also how indespensible his detail is to the direct safety of him and Christmas Magic.
The safety of Santa and his wife is their only priorty especially if one evil being detects Santa. Not many can detect Santa but if multiple people are with his brother, they could gather to try to destroy Santa in the mortal world.
Sometimes, this division stays behind. Mostly they go.
Two Turtle Doves Division is the group codename.
This agency is small. There is a total of 20 agents.
Five are always with Santa on mall visits. Five go with him even on business trips except ten go if Mrs. Claus goes.
Four tend to go with them on vacation/holiday but sometimes six will depending on where they go.
On business trips, mall visits, and official business, it is sometimes not unusual for all twenty to go so ten elves can hide or be stationed with the sleigh. These trips are often a big deal. These often require the whole team.
Each elf undergoes training with the United States Secret Service Service and State Department's Diplomatic Security Service (of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security) along with London Metropolitian Police's Royalty and Specialist Protection Unit to ensure they can protect both efficiently.
Other agenices (FBI, CIA, MOSSAD, MI6) help out Santa to teach certain skills like surveillance, how to pick line of sight, crowd spotting and spotting evil beings in crowd, and similar things.
It also involves knowledge of all Anti-Christmas Beings and their powers.
Most of this training comes from outside sources and confindental meetings.
Each elf usually wears a uniform of red and green on both the pants and shirt. Sometimes, a jacket of the same scheme is seen.
No weapons are part of their uniform.
Risk Assesment and Planning - Comprehensive risk assessments identify vulnerabilites, where to secretly and securly park a sleigh, possible threats, what to do if the threats appear, and many more. These assessments ensure that each step is taken for every aspect of the trip to make Santa and/or Mrs.Claus is safe and will arrive home without incident.
Protection - Members of the detail forms a perimeter while other members ensure the sleigh is secured. Constant vilgiance for both the sleigh and people helps prevent unauthorized access to either.
Logistical Support w/humans - This part involves human governments. Transportation, accommodations, place to store sleigh, and anything else are always with the governments who know of Santa's existence and who faciliate a smooth journey down south.
Emergency Preparedness - This team is ready come what may for any emergency. Each member is well-learned for the emergencies that could happen down south. In the tests they do before any trip down south (Including Christmas Eve), the team responds swiftly and effectively. In the few that have happened without them, it all worked out.
And even in the several over centuries, the team has been able to ensure Santa and Mrs. Claus are safe and healthy and away from whatever the danger was.
However, if the Anti-Christmastide Beings appear then it is up to the Guardians (including Santa) to take away their power and to ensure that they harm not the children. The detail understands this.
Mrs. Claus , with regards to the beings, sticks to her husband's side.
This detail was established centuries ago after the formation of Center of Christmas Spirit and Magic City, the second incarnation of Santa's Village. Both Santa and Mrs. Claus and the other Guardians realize that The Clauses should get protection when they leave the Kingdom. And both get it. They don't need it. But for the sake of safety due to their role in magic and their role as Guardians, they don't complain. So this detail is created.
Throughout the following centuries, the Kingdom would continue. Each day, the divsions work to ensure Dark Magic doesn't succeed in ruining what is left of magic. Each day, all is well. There were a few incidents from The Anti-Claus. And Dark Magic did try but neither succeeded.
Maybe there is a chance for magic to return. Maybe this detail won't be needed in the future. But maybe they will stay and become part of Santa Mythos.
