Orian
Orian is small in stature, barely larger than an adolescent, with a youthful appearance that belies the dangerous power he holds. His psychic abilities allow him to manipulate dreams, delve into minds, and perceive the supernatural with an intensity that makes him a valuable asset, but also a walking threat. His curiosity, especially about Aberrations and his suspected Meliae heritage, has grown into a dangerous obsession, driving him to explore mysteries that most would avoid.
Background
Orian’s origins are shrouded in uncertainty, even to him. Only recently recruited by The Circle of Sendiir before encountering the rest of the party in their dealings with supernatural threats. While his loyalty to the party is genuine, his motives remain ambiguous, largely because he is haunted by questions of his own heritage. Hints of a Meliae lineage—a race of seductive, soul-consuming beings—have only fueled his growing obsession with understanding the otherworldly. Encounters with figures like Inquisitor Ilarik and Kaligard have further muddled his self-perception, forcing him to question how human he truly is.Skills and Expertise
Orian’s psychic abilities from his Karlu-Chatil origins are his most dangerous asset. He can manipulate the minds of others, intrude into their dreams, and detect supernatural threats long before they manifest physically. His telepathy allows him to act as a scout, feeling out Aberrations and otherworldly dangers from afar. His abilities come with a cost, often leaving him physically drained or mentally scarred, especially when he pushes too far. Recently, his powers have grown unpredictably, leading to disturbing episodes of contact with otherworldly entities, which only deepen his obsession.Personality
Dangerously inquisitive, Orian is driven by a need to uncover the truth about his lineage and the supernatural forces that haunt the world. His curiosity is both his greatest strength and his greatest flaw, often pulling him into perilous situations without regard for his own safety. He remains quiet, his intensity masked by a reserved demeanor, but those close to him see the depths of his obsession. Orian’s encounters with Kaligard and Ilarik have left him questioning his own nature, and this unresolved conflict fuels his need to push further into the unknown.Motivations
Orian’s primary motivation is discovery—of the world’s secrets and his owh, even at great personal risk. His encounters with entities like the eldritch Kaligard have only deepened his obsession, as he’s grown more willing to confront the darkest corners of the world for answers. Though he is loyal to the party, his personal quest for understanding often takes precedence, and his fixation on the supernatural is becoming increasingly dangerous.
