Aliados Strip

This massive, 1,000ft long airstrip is located just a city block west of the Coracao do Mundo Tower. While the tower dock is used primarily for passenger airships, the Aliados Strip is used as a loading and unloading dock for cargo airships.   This dock is used by the adjacent Tincture Distribution Center to ship all of the Miracle Tincture that supplies the empire outside the city; this accounts for 60% of the shipping on the strip. The remaining 40% of shipping is miscellaneous cargo exported from the Industrial Sector.   In watchtowers along the perimeter of the strip, overseers dispatch workers and direct traffic flows while their underlings record and file shipping manifests. On the ground, hundreds of grunt workers load and unload cargo, mechanics perform routine maintenance on the airships, and cleaners scrub the Alumentum residue from the ships and strip itself.   The airstrip is a bustling hub of activity, and efficiency is often prioritized over safety. Flights are scheduled so tightly that airships are often coming in to land while the ship in their dock is still taking off. Frequent accidents of loaders include cargo lifting injuries and falls. Occasionally, mechanics and cleaners are severely burned by Alum steam. The empire doesn't see these injuries as a problem, opting to provide Replacement limbs for injured, burned, or mutilated workers rather than strive for safer working conditions.   The biggest danger to workers is Aluma-rot, due to close proximity with heavy Alum exhaust. This is mitigated by the Tincture Distribution Center next door ensuring no worker misses a dose, yet cases of Aluma-Rot are not uncommon.
