the Throne of Civilization
The relatively flat fertile lands making up central Novyum were always destined to become the core of every major civilization in Ethae history. Centered around Lake Roic, the Heartlands is a region of rolling plains, feed by reliable rivers that web the landscape. The temperate climate makes for mild winters and gentle summers, with long growing seasons. Century after century of being the heart of human culture has left the Heartlands a tamed land of farms and cities.
In the far ancient world, the lands were once home to a vast endless forest known in myth as Saquutu. Ages of civilizations has left only small patches of the old forests remaining in the modern day. The region today is covered in farmlands and country roads.
