Gilgurth's Cloud

The Gilgurth's Cloud often just known as 'the Cloud', is a massive field of dust, rocks, and debris in Alan. Modern astronomy understands it is created by an anomaly in the fabric of Alanspace where the Anon (Magic) is seemly corrupted. The anomaly is a stationary location within the Celestial Cycle rotation disk. It resides within the obrital path of both stars and is located on the orbital disk closest to the Draco Constellation - . It is unaffected by gravity or other physical or magical phenomena. Every Six hundred years one of the two stars Juva or Uatu pass through the Cloud.

As Juva, a supercharged Solanon entity, passes through, magic throughout Alanspace is dampened as the Cloud absorbs the energy Juva is emitting. The Cloud also picks up debris from Juva's Belt, as the star passes through. This seems random and without explanation, as random asteroids and dust suddenly stop moving in their orbits and remain in the Cloud. When Uatu passes through is will absorb Solanon energy left by Juva., giving the magical energy to the sun. The orbiting planet Aldern is often hit by some of the debris left in the Cloud. Both Juva and Utau's gravity has no effect on the Cloud, or the debris trapped within it. It is only the planet Aldern that seem to pull the objects within. Common belief is the Kianon of the world draws the Solanon rich objects to it.

On Aldern, the passing through the Cloud is a mark for scholars and astronomers of the begin date of each Celestial Cycle. Each of the ages of the world ends with impacts. This occurs every 1200 years. The greatest of these was the Gilgurth impact of 1200pre-sc which nearly wiped-out life on Aldern when a massive rock impacted with the world.
