Feywilds
Echoes of What Once Was
Feywilds are locations on Aldern where the barriers between realities are weaker. Here the realms of the material world touches Enur, the realm of light and heavenly delight. These are called, by some scholars, 'Echoes of What Once Was'. A glimpse into what Aldern must have been like in the Time of Aterleg, before history began. It is believed that all the lands of Aldern were once covered in a single great Feywild that circled the world. Today, however, only pockets remain, usually located in remote forest far from civilizations that alter the land around them. Elder Tree and their Mantle are a quintessential example of Feywilds.
Elf, Nymph, and other magical creatures can be found in Feywilds, making their homes in the awe-inspiring beauty of the region. A peace fills those entering this region. Here the air is cleaner. The colors of the world, the greens of the leaves and the blue of the sky, seem more vivid and bright. Storms that rage outside become a gentle rainfall within. The world has a brightness to it. Even the darkest nights seeming no darker than twilight. In a Feywild the Anon (Magic) is stronger than anywhere else on Aldern.
Every Feywild of Aldern is connected through the World Root. Those that known the secrets of the Root can use the Feywilds to travel across the world instantly. This can be a challenge for outsiders coming in to use the Feywild to travel, but for the natives, such as the Soun'are, it is a simple, almost innate task, as if stepping from one room to the text.
