Soun'are (SOON are)
Children of Soun
In Elf legend the Feyite were the first elves of Aldern. Their leader Fey and his children the Fey'are led them to dwell in the branches of Aterleg and the other Elder Tree. There, their communities grew, and lived, and learned. These early elves rivaled the power of Dragon. But time continues on, and these people moved with it. Their strong, but small communities, once remote in their trees connected with the Human around them. New cultures developed as each of their Fey'are leaders went their own path of life with their Feyite followers. Of them, Soun alone kept his Feyite insolated through the early generations. As the other Feyites mixed their blood with humankind giving birth to the modern elves, the children of Soun remained pure and powerful.
The children of Soun, the Soun'are, are the last generation of true full blooded Feyite. In other words, pure elf. Their blood is magic itself. As the generations pass and magic grows weaker in all races, including other elves, the Soun'are remain strong. That said, they have dwindled from the world. Though immortal, and extremely power, they can be killed, and some have been over the ages. Others have withdrawn from the world choosing to go Beyond Aldern. Still others have entered an eternal slumber in hidden away palaces waiting for a time when the world returns to what it once was when Aterleg grew. It is estimated that only a dozen of these ancient beings remains alive to the modern day.
If one is to ever find a Soun'are, one must first find a Feywilds. There within the Feywild a Soun'are may appear to a seeker. Most leave disappointed, having never encountered a Soun'are. Soun'are can travel between Feywilds at will. They seem to be able to sense Feywilds, even across the world. When a new one is born the Soun'are knows. When a Feywild vanishes, they feel the pain of it. So powerful are these ancestral elves that they can channel shards of their power into others they deem worthy.
Of the few Soun'are that remain the White Queen of Inage Island may well be the most well-known. She is claimed to have willed the Feywild of Inage into existence, and single handedly built the Mantle that protects her island. Her whispers raise kingdoms and her wraith destroys nations. Or so the legends go.
