Enur

the Divide

In Trijan religious text, Enur is the divide between Aldern (the world) and Beyond Aldern (the heavens and hells). According to these texts, Enur was created by Alu at the end of the Aggelomachy to create a separation between the outer planes of existence and the world to prevent another war. For those who are educated in the studies of such matters the Enur it is far more nuanced than this.

In most myths, when Enur is mentioned, the storyteller is nearly always referring to what some call 'Upper Enur', the region of the plane that is between the heavenly realms and Aldern. The 'lower half' is Etu Enur, a darker aspect of reality and the divide between Aldern and the unknown hellish realms beyond. These to realms, Enur and Etu Enur, are considered as both the same reality and separate at the same time. The division of Enur and Etu Enur is a blurring and often confusing concept far beyond most intelligent mortal minds to understand. The same place yet are opposites and do not touch one another.

Putting its more famous shadowy lower half aside for a moment, Enur is described as a reality of pure life and energy. A realm of green trees and blue lakes, with light emanating for the air itself. Peace fills the heart of those that entire. However, it is not a realm mortal bodies can survive. The overwhelming energy of life is to much for the imperfect mortal body to survive. It is the plane for souls after their material body has died. A reality designed to bring peace and joy to a soul as it transitions between the mortal realm and the heavens beyond. As Etu Enur has points in its reality that touch Aldern in the form of Shadowfell, so too does Enur have similar regions where the barrier are weaker. These are known as Feywilds.

Generally the term Enur is often thought interchangeable with Beyond Aldern by the common folk. Those learned of the planes of existence of course known if far more complicated. In its simplest form, Enur is the barrier Alu created to keeps those outer planes of 'Beyond Aldern' far from Aldern itself.
