Prince
Prince, or Princess, is the title given to any leader of a Principality. Currently, all Princes and Princesses are Descendants of the King, Vah'dis.
The title of Prince or Princess is only given to a Descendant once they rise to power, most often because the current holder of the title died. When this happens, they are given a regnal name and are thereafter only referred to by that name by the common people. To refer to a Prince or Princess by their former name is a crime.
Picking Princes and Princesses
Vah'dis is the one who picks the Descendants that are worthy to become a Prince or a Princess, and the criteria that the King uses have never been made clear. This has caused no end of strife amongst the Descendants; as a matter of fact, the common people often state that a Descendant's favourite past time is backstabbing their kin. Blood has been shed, people have been killed and buried in secret, alliances have been broken then reformed, all in order to have the honor to become a Prince or a Princess. Vah'dis himself does not condone the in-fighting amongst his children, but he is also mostly powerless to stop it, as they have learned to undertake most of their operations in complete secret - at least from the ears and eyes of the King.Remove these ads.
