"I swear this city block was a little shorter last time I was here..."
"Shorter? I don't even remember it being here at all!"— Admiring the handiwork of the locals
Capital of
Nahuara, a city nestled in a riverside oasis and home to
Strygi and other creature folk who call the desert their home.
City of Renovations
If there's anything
Nahuarans love, it's reinventing their homes and spaces in new, fresh ways. Few cities do it as dramatically as Vasareno!
Feverish Rebuilders
From neighborhood makeovers to entire main street overhauls, the streetscape you might remember from a previous visit may just not be there the next time you drop by the city to have a look around.
As new crafts and fashions enter and leave the popular styles of the day, folks tend to alter their homes and local architecture to reflect them. New styles of tiling, new window shapes, funky doors, you name it, they have done something fun with it at least once in the city's history.
Landmarks in Change
Not everyone is so keen to follow in this practice, however, so it's not entirely uncommon for folks to use longer-standing buildings and structures as landmarks for guiding others through the city. Older folks with less vigor for crafts or less tolerance for change might find their favorite home designs and settle with them for the rest of their days, and residents with foreign roots might have attachments to their homes as they are, finding the constant change to be overwhelming and choosing to abstain.
There is no judgement against those who stick to what they've got, but they do miss out on a lot of opportunities for social connection the way the locals enjoy engaging with one another. House tours, demonstrations of new features, and showing of new artwork tends to be the most common cause for get-togethers in Vasareno, so those who don't change things up much have to find other excuses to invite folks to their home.
