  Novetito is a cat residing within the library in Vasareno, known for being its finest employee.

Great Paws, Great Responsibility

No one knows exactly when this cat wandered into the library for the first time, but everyone around knows that he belongs there now, and there's no question about it. He watches carefully over the collection, stares at new library patrons with a stern gaze, and purrs just loud enough that the library assistants have to ask him to quiet down just a little so no one gets disrupted in their studies. It never works, but they try to ask him out of formality.

Local Icon

Everybody loves Novetito. His presence encourages local kids to go to the library and read books, and he brightens the day of any patron who comes in to get work done or unwind after a long day. If you sit down with a book for long enough, you might end up with a large, purring creature in your lap — just be careful not to fall asleep. Or do! The building is open 24/7, so no one's going to kick you out. Besides, if there's a cat in your lap, they legally can't move you.

Shocking Disappearance

Because of this cat's reputation in the local community, it came as a huge shock one day when patrons found he simply was nowhere to be found one day! It was rare for Novetito to not make himself known when patrons arrive, and rarer still for him to leave the building at all, so folks feared the worst for their beloved feline friend. None could be more torn up than the librarian herself, Ostella, who most folks believe raised the cat from the tiniest little kitten in his first days at the library.   He was missing for many sullen months before his whereabouts were determined, and his position at the library reinstated in one fell swoop!

Bounty of the Necro-brarian

When an adventuring party boldly took on the Necro-brarian's hideout, no one expected that a book heist would result in the return of their beloved library cat. The adventurers, who now make up the League of Rascals, found the boy, fell in love with him, and took him from the hideout along with all of the other items they were tasked with finding — along with some they weren't, just because.   This rescue made these criminals-gone-good true heroes in Vasareno, their little faces forever living in the library in a large and chaotic mural depicting their heroic actions, and the return of Novetito.
