Danyar Saronovik is a 16-year-old boy who has endured significant trauma since the players first encountered him and his family during their journey through Chernaya. The Saronovik family, small-time merchants known for their wine stand in Sevgorod , was attacked in the night by what they initially believed to be a wild animal. Evelia's husband Varke was dragged away by the creature, leaving Danyar, his mother Evelia, and his younger siblings to fend for themselves. Despite the terrifying circumstances, Danyar tried to assume the role of protector, even though it was clear he was deeply frightened by the events. Even after the Nightreaver laid eggs inside him that Rolandus needed to cut free using his surgical skills, Danyar persevered.
Over the course of their journey, Danyar remained with the group, growing closer to Elara Jorik, the daughter of Ren Jorik. The two of them shared moments of quiet camaraderie, which offered Danyar some solace amid the chaos. However, his experiences only deepened in intensity as the group faced various Aberrations and dangers. He witnessed the horrors at Krezko, where his family was wiped out, and was present when the group battled the monstrous creatures that haunted the land. Danyar's exposure to these events has left him with a hardened exterior, though he remains vulnerable, particularly in moments of quiet reflection.
In a later encounter, Danyar demonstrated an unusual ability to communicate with animals when he and Rolandus came across a massive stag in the forest, who would soon join the group as The Blood-King. This ability surprised the group and hinted at a deeper connection to the the weave of the Second world, though it remains unclear whether this is a gift or a curse. Despite everything, Danyar's resolve to protect those he cares about continues to drive him, even as the dangers around them grow ever more perilous.
During their travels northward, Danyar confided in the others that his mother had once told him that she had met his 'father' nearly a year after Danyar was born... and left the implications otherwise unspoken.
