Love them or hate them, you'd be hard-pressed to find a city where no one knows the name of Lux Silvers.
 
A performer that made their debut on the popular reality TV show 'rising stars', Lux quickly rose to stardom with their quick wit and enchanting performances.
 
But the most alluring thing about Lux is neither their looks nor their personality- but the seemingly endless layers of mystery surrounding them.
 
Layers of lies surround Lux, trapping people like flies stuck in a spider's web. As Lux spins their webs, it seems like they become more and more irresistible with every thread of silk.
 
But the question remains: is Lux spinning a cocoon, or a prison? And what will Lux do when the ghosts of their past finally come to hunt them down?

Physical Description

Lean, but surprisingly muscular. Very slender and flexible build.

Skin slightly sparkles, as if they had body glitter on.



Facial Features

Known for having 'eyes like liquid gold'. The color in their irises shift around as if it was a pot of molten gold being stirred.


Lux's face is just a little too cute and perfect to not be altered in some way, but not so unnatural that it leans into uncanny valley territory.


Apparel & Accessories

Iconic outfit: Their idol outfit. Deep purple vest and short shorts, with a frill of fabric attached to form a half skirt. Golden star on the vest, with gold star hairpins. Fishnet leggings and fishnet glove on left hand, with bangles on the right wrist.


Sleepwear: Lux sleeps in one of those super extra satin bathrobes with the feather trim.


Special abilities

Shape-shifting because changling


Uses molten gold in her fire attacks. However, the gold quickly deteriorates into worthless slag once cooled.


Mentality

Personal history

Lux was born the only child to one of the few changeling families outside of the core settlement of the fey. Born into wealth, Lux had always dreamed of becoming a star one day.


All her days were spent practicing, practicing, practicing. Soon enough, her moment came: She was accepted onto the TV show rising stars!


Across the continent, another young changeling named Adrien had auditioned for the show. When Lux heard about the other talented changeling from across the sea, she was ecstatic.


Originally, the show producers weren't going to let Adrien on the show. Going overseas for a single participant was too expensive, even for a promising talent.


But Lux begged her father, and he managed to pull some strings to send a ship to pick Adrien up.


The idol show put all of the contestants through grueling work schedules. Every inch of time not spent preforming or training for preformances was used for photo shoots, media appearances and interviews.


Meanwhile, Lux and Adrien became close friends, both on and off the camera. They'd often play pranks on the staff, working together to distract them for long enough to sneak extra ice cream or hide in the costume closet to try on outfits.


Lux quickly became a fan favorite, due to her confident and outgoing personality. Adrien also had a healthy fan base, charming people with their mischievous antics.


As more and more contestants were sent home, tensions started to rise. Many fans started to pit Lux and Adrien against each other, and the producers leaned into the drama.


As the finale drew closer, their relationship grew more and more strained. Adrien grew more competitive, doing whatever they could to secure the win.


In the end, Lux just barely won out. Adrien had a mental breakdown onstage, before running away in tears.


Shortly after the finale concluded, Adrien attacked Lux backstage, locking them both in the dressing room. Luckily, Lux made it out with only some minor wounds, managing to pin Adrien underneath a clothes rack.


The authorities arrested Adrien soon after, and ended up sending them to a secluded mental ward.


Lux went on to become a dazzling star, despite the ongoing controversies around them and the conspiracy theories around their rise to fame.


That's all the cameras know for sure, anyway.


Every time Lux is asked about her past, they spin a brand new story, each one wilder than the last. She's claimed to be an orphan her parents took in, a magic puppet, resurrected ancient royalty, and a myriad of other things.


Despite being such a popular celebrity, Lux is very secretive about their personal details, answers to the smallest things about them constantly changing.


When asked about why they do this, Lux always answers the same: “What's the fun in just telling you all the answers? Getting handed all the answers is dreadfully boring, don't you think?”

Works as an Idol, putting on shows and making TV appearances. Lux is a solo act, and her popularity is steadily growing each day.


Lux also has and array of merchandise, ranging from clothing and makeup to plushies.


The makeup line is the most popular, advertising that it can give you the ability to change your face, just like a changeling could. There's a conspiracy that the product turns your bones to goo, which lets you reshape your face, but there's nothing conclusive yet.

  • Glitz and glitter: Lux is an absolute sparkle gremlin. If it's glittery, they want it. Tends to hoard small trinkets.




  • Their fans: Lux is always happy to see their fans!

  • Mocktails: Drinks them religiously.


DISLIKES:



  • Snowmen.

  • Severe aversion to touch, especially when taken by surprise and/or by unfamiliar people




  • Alcohol. People tend to get a little touchy when Lux got drunk, thinking that they wouldn't mind when they're drunk.


After one too many uncomfortable situations, they made up a story in an interview about swearing off drinking after a dear friend recently died to alcohol poisoning. It's complete bullshit, but it did the trick.


Also, beer is just glorified wheat juice.


Vices & Personality flaws

Habitual liar: To keep up their alluring mystique, Lux has made a habit of dodging questions and lying about themselves. Also willing to lie to get what they want.


They lie constantly, both on and off the air, to the point where they have trouble actually telling the truth. Lux feels uncomfortable when telling the truth, which (ironically) makes people suspect they're lying.



Hygiene

Extremely clean and hygienic. Although they can adjust their features at will, changeling skin requires a lot of upkeep to stay healthy and maleable, and ensure seamless transitions with no ill effects.


Due to this, Lux has an extremely complicated skincare routine that consists of 26 steps and takes around 45 minutes to complete. Although skincare is a normal thing among changelings, Lux's is definitely on the extreme side.

has a substantial amount of money, but most of the funds are locked behind the producers of the game show. They managed to smuggle a sizeable chunk of it, though.

Their life has been mostly a matter of survival, and they haven't had a chance to explore spirituality or religion, as that could cause drama in the fanbase.

    • When Lux was starting out their career, the producers had several assistants constantly hovering around them to keep Lux looking pristine.
    Lux absolutely despised this, every single imperfection in his appearance causing someone to dive in like a harpy to fix it without any warning.
    Lux is averse to touch, especially when taken by surprise, so this was not a great combo.
    Over time, Lux figured out how to keep themself looking immaculate at all times, and it's developed into a habit.

    What is a celebrity but a peasant dressed as a god? They are named 'Idols' for a reason, after all.
     
    The people gather to worship at the feet of a living statue. Many would die to be the subject of such adoration. Many have died to be the subject of such adoration.
     
    What is a funeral but the worship of a corpse? 'Do not speak ill of the dead,' They say.
     
    They gather to mourn the idea of something, someone, so that they may engrave a shallow image of them into their minds. 'Do not tarnish that image', is what they truly say. You never hold open caskets for those who die in fires.
     
    What is a statue, but a corpse? A figure captured in stone, unable to breathe.
     
    Urban legend says that crooked salesmen dig up graves and cover the corpses in plaster to sell. We flinch, but it remains the same- they are buried, unseen and unheard, under layers and layers of chalk.
     
    What is an Idol but the statue of a corpse? They gather and worship what never was and never will.
     
    An image, frozen in time, beautiful and dead. A deity forged in the collective hallucination of someone beautiful and perfect and good. If you look for long enough, you can almost convince yourself they're breathing.
     
    You cannot sin if you are dead. You cannot sin if no one can see you. They do not want to see you, the ugly, marred, sinful thing you are.
     
     
    Worship is not love. A god cannot be held from up in heaven. A corpse cannot feel a kiss.
     
    Churches hold funerals because there is no greater act of worship than being made perfect in death.

    Celebrities are all dead, and their bodies are puppeteered by the ugly thing rotting inside each and every one of them. An everlasting dance, the illusion of connection played out for the audience.
     
    That ugly thing will never see the sun. It is ugly, and sinful. But nevertheless, they yearn for it, the selfish sinful thing it is.
     
    Can you kiss someone through a mask? Lips meeting plastic.
     
    Can you hold someone through a glove? Skin meeting plastic.
     
    Can you see someone through a screen? Eyes meeting plastic.
     
    It's all just layers and layers of plastic. You wrap yourself up so they cannot see your flaws, but in doing so prevent them from seeing you at all.
     
    When the shrink wrap suffocates you, that is when you truly become a celebrity. Once the rotten thing you were born into is dead, and what people see you as is all you are.
     
    And you hope it rots quietly.
     
    And you pray it rots quietly.
