As you prepare for your meditations, your mind wanders as you go through the motions by rote.
You let your mind float, unfocussed, allowing random dross and flotsam of thought to skitter across the frozen pond of mental clarity as your begin to clear your mind. Good old Gyatso. You'd never quite been able to master his "Void and Flame" technique. It was so …..foreign. No, your Water and Ice works much better for you. As these random thoughts skip and slid through your mind, they all begin to slow, gradually joining the stationary and immobile "sheet". The frozen surface of your mind. Where the deep flowing current still seethes, but beneath a fixed and knowable sheet of ice. It provides you with a solid foundation for you to view, process, and clarify your thoughts, your mind, your soul.
As you continue to work through the mental preparations, you glance beneath the firming ice as it gains additional hardness and clarity. You've come to understand that the Ice sheet represents your conscious mind or your actual awareness, while the flow beneath is a mental manifestation of your subconscious. You've learned that the flow never really stops. Early in your training you were fascinated by studying the flow just under the surface, but you've only rarely been able to get the ice clear enough to discern what is beneath. Gyatso was so confused by the whole thing that he didn't really understand what you were communicating to him for many years. It wasn't until the sage came and helped that he was able to astral project himself into your meditation landscape. It was the subject present during your most animated discussions with the Old Monk. With his guidance and patience you have honed your mental preparations over the years. Old Gyatso postulates that the separation in your mind is a mental representation of the blockage in your memory, and that when you are ready, the ice will clarify at your will.
You recall the first time it did. That was when you found out where your Amethyst came from.
Unbidden, the ice at your feet creaks and groans loudly and becomes as clear as a looking glass, granting you a view to the river of thought beneath. Glancing down instinctively, you feel yourself get sucked into the vision.
It's one of the earliest memories of your life at the monastery. You don't remember much prior to Gundren's intervention at the slavers market. You get brief flashes of darkness, the feel of a chain around your ankle and a muzzle on your face. You're juvenile wings pinned and banded cruelly. Wracking pains of hunger. You shake your head brutally, shedding the dark, ephemeral thoughts and visions. Moving into the memory you are here for your mental landscape goes blank from horizon to horizon, a small dot of awareness springs into existence on the edge or your awareness and accelerates towards you growing larger. You have the briefest impression of the image of a landscape when suddenly realty seems to snap into existence around you. You're familiar with the process now and look around you, taking in the scene, comfortable with the knowledge that this is but a memory.
As you follow the Old Monk through the halls of the Monastery the feeling of having food in your belly is still unfamiliar enough as to feel alien. The faint scent of herbs and roses still cling to the freshly laundered monk robes that you wear, and your slippered feet make barely a scuffle on the tiled floor. Your wings fit comfortably through the modified robes and allow you a freedom of movement that you still marvel at.
Like the smooth motion of a glacier your vision slides forward in time..
You've grown accustomed to the routine now after weeks in the home of the Corellon Monks. You haven't met any of the other monks yet. The Old Monk Gyatso has been acclimatizing you to your new surroundings. helping you to remember how to be something...…anything....other than the terrible wretch that you had been but a handful of weeks before. It's been an interesting few weeks, for yourself and for Brother Gyatso.
The rest plays by as a montage of scenes. The Meditation room. The struggle while brother Gyatso tried to impart his methodology of harnessing your internal awareness. Then finally to the day it all became clear.
"Feed your thoughts to the flame Blaithe." Brother Gyatso says patiently. You struggle in this strange and foreign mindscape as Brother Gyatso appears before you. Surrounded by darkness, you envision the flame inside the void as he's taught you. No matter how much you focus, it just doesn't work. It all feels so foreign and strange.
Monk Gyatso took you under his wing and through rigorous meditation and prayers worked with you exhaustively to help you harness a modicum of control over your "outbursts" as they had become known.
You don't remember your family. Not really. You were so young.
As you finish your evening devotional to Corellon, your body both alive and spent simultaneously. A knifes edge of awareness. You feel the comforting thrum in your chest as the energy of the Amethyst stone, recharged from your prayer, spreads reassuringly though you.

The Seekers of the Misty Isle are an elite order of elves dedicated to finding the Misty Isle which was whisked away by the deities Gruumsh and Kurtulmak.

She spent her first 30 years causing problems and mayhem amongst the monks and slowly settled into a rhythm within her own mental cycles with the help and temperance of her god. her Amethyst is a token of this temperance and without it, she slowly devolves into a more voltile version of herself.
The monks began to marvel at your extended life span.
Gundren Rockseeker - Affiliation: Saved young-Blaith from a life of servitude and helped her get to the monastery of Corellon. Gundren often visited and was a wonderful opponent when playing mental games of tac or chess.
Amethyst Prayer stone attuned to character through ritual sacrifice and mental exercises.
