Verboge (ver-BOZH)
The Builder, The Hammerer, Industrious One
Neutral Good (with Lawful tendencies) Castorkin Forge God
Usually depicted as a burly castorkin smith with his mighty hammer Sventrivi (his primary symbol), typically with an anvil nearby. Occasionally shown instead as a heavily armored juggernaut, though still with his distinctive hammer, and sometimes standing upon his formidable self-propelled war chariot Kamytvarki.Verboge was originally the patron god of castorkin, but easily found worship among most smiths, builders, craftsfolk, miners, and laborers long ago and has enjoyed a healthy and far-flung congregation for many eras. His role among the pantheon has been extremely consistent, though he usually appears as a secondary character in the narratives of other dieties and heroes in his role as maker of armaments and legendary items. However, the old stories are very clear on the notion that while the forge god is not easily angered, if finally pushed to his limit Verboge's destructive fury is terrible even by divine standards. When battleclad and angered, there are few things that can stand against him.
A god for industrious folk who earn their way in the world through hard work, tradecraft, and grit, Verboge has no fancy temples. His clergy tend to have full time jobs working some kind of craft, and have a simple shrine someplace about their place of work where they periodically give short sermons for the local faithful...typically parables and tenants reinforcing the importance of hard work, diligence, thrift, and quality craftsmanship. A repeating theme is the idea that living a productive life is a path to moral edification; thus doing the best job one can and seeking self-improvement are not just practical concerns but also the key to an elevated existence.
Verboge also has an aspect as protector of home and hearth, warder of settlements, builder of walls, forger of shields. He is often prayed to for aegis against threats from without in times of great danger. Some of his clerics specialize in extending the proection of Verboge to places in the form of sigils and wards, and a moderately sized group of paladins known as the Order of the Gate travel the countryside lending their aid to settlements in need of defense.
While strictly speaking Verboge isn't a war god, his role as the ultimate forger of legendary weapons and armor, and his devastatingly destructive warlike aspect when pushed to battle does resonate with some martially oriented mortals. In particular, many Artificers worship, venerate, or at least pay some kind of respect to him, though there is a friendly rivalry between the faithful of Mokay and Verboge. Those of a more inventive or creative bent tend to favor the monkeykin Maker god while those of a more practical bent prefer the castorkin Builder god.
