Gorgons

Gorgons are hideous and powerful monsters, skin covered in deep green scales, hand bearing claws, venomous snakes for hair, & long serpentine lower body.

The physical strength of the Gorgons is higher than the typical mortal being able to hit hard with their claws and even harder with their tails being able to break bones with their strikes. Their scales grant them some degree of resistance to weapon damage being harder than normal scales. The venom from the snakes on their head simply called Gorgon Venom is a deadly venom that causes burning in the wound and throughout the body once it travels through the bloodstream. They carry a curse that involuntarily activates when they meet the eyes of others excluding other gorgons the victim is turned to stone upon meeting the gaze of these monsters.

Gorgons can't reproduce sexually they spread through their blood, the blood of the Gorgon will turn a woman into a gorgon in a matter of 12 days.

Gorgons live in deep mountain caves with high heat due to being cold blooded they can't live in cold tundras.

Gorgons have no need for nutrients although they only have a taste for rodents like mice.

Gorgons have an enhanced sense of sight being able to see in the dark up to 120ft.

The Children Of The Gorgons

• The Children Of The Gorgons also called the C.O.G are an old cult founded by Medusa, Stheno, & Euryale centuries after the demise of their home town. This cult would worship the gorgons through consumption of their venom and pillaging villages to feed their greed.

Gorgons are proficient in the use of martial weapons often using swords and bows typically gained from those they kill. They can also use the venom in their snakes to cause immense pain and damage.

Gorgons retain their original languages but can also communicate with snakes speaking in their language.

Gorgons have no need for clothing although many wear a gorgon mask that mitigates their curse.

The first gorgons were made during the dark ages of zodia when three orphaned warrior sisters Medusa, Sthenno, & Euryale reached the peak of Mt. Tenno as the mountain is rumored to have immense power. They braved the challenges of Mt. Tenno fending off mighty monsters and getting past traps until they found cursed blood. The sisters drank the cursed blood restoring their beauty from their original scarred and torn visage and restoring their youth.   However once they returned to their home town of Dresden they experienced some changes as the days went by. In 3 days their skin had gone from a vibrant and fair complexion to a deep green and scaly like a swamp, in 5 days their nails became sharp like claws, by the 7th. day they experienced pain in their heads which eventually turned their full and luscious hair into venomous snakes, by the 10th. day they experienced pain in their eyes which eventually turned them red and everyone that met their eyes were turned to stone, & by the twelfth day they lost feeling in their legs eventually congealing into one 12ft. long lower body like a snake's tail. Once this transformation was complete they were horrified by the change looking for help they accidentally turned all 5,000 denizens of Dresden into stone all of them were horrified by what the sisters became. They eventually gained the attention of the Order Of The Sky being hunted by the angelic warriors who sought to purge monsters from the planet sparking the Battle Of Dresden resulting in the deaths of 200 haloin as they were caught in the unique gaze of the gorgons leaving and going into hiding.   As centuries went by the sisters resided in Mt. Tenno unable to die as their new forms granted eternal life and the power to pass on their curse through their blood now mimicking the same cursed blood that made them. Over the centuries the Gorgons became corrupt and greedy, forming cults promising power to those who served them having their venom and blood circulate through the markets of mortal settlements. Eventually the Gorgons and their cults joined forces with the Soulleal group aiding in the subjugation of the planet although they were slain by the clergies that sought to liberate the people many gorgons still exist till this day.

Medusa, The Venom Mother

• The eldest & strongest of the first gorgons she founded the C.O.G alongside her sisters. She was originally a kind and generous leader of her siblings as a mortal but she became prideful and arrogant over the centuries becoming rather domineering to her siblings and cult. Medusa's blood makes anyone who uses it into arrogant and prideful gorgons.

Sthenno, The Brutal Serpent

• The most adept in combat of her siblings she founded the C.O.G alongside her sisters. She was a determined and elegant warrior as a mortal but she became violent and bloodthirsty as the centuries went by. Her brutality is well known as she left shattered stone around her battlefields. Her blood makes those who use it angry, violent, and bloodthirsty.

Euryale, The Witch Serpent

• The most intelligent and creative of her siblings, she founded the C.O.G alongside her sisters. As a mortal she was a tinkerer making various gadgets with her knowledge even making the "Gorgon Mask" to control and mitigate their curse however as time passed she became more insane making many other devastating items with her twisted intelligence. Her blood makes those who use it smarter but it also messes with their restraint and is prone to violence.

It's thought that the cursed blood that made the Gorgons in the first place was planted by Mephiles to make monsters from mortals.
