Kalana

Savanna Plains

Most of Kalana's interior consists of expansive savannah plains, characterized by grasslands, thorn trees, and scattered shrubs. These plains are home to iconic wildlife such as lions, lightbenders, elephants, and quagga, making them popular destinations for trophy hunters.  

Coastal Region

Along Kalana's eastern border lies a picturesque coastline along the Titavic Ocean. The coastal region features stunning beaches, coral reefs, and mangrove forests. Further out in the shoals, thrive mer communities that trade wares with the coastal cities of Kalana; most notably with Sanbiya.  

Wetlands

Kalana is dotted with numerous lakes, providing vital water sources for both wildlife and humanoid populations. The Canseri swamp, the largest inland body of water forms much of Kalana's Western border. The Caori river drains from it, providing the southern expanse of Kalana with fertile lands. During the rainy season, the flooding does turn much of these areas to wetlands.

The region was reclaimed by the elves during the Age of Verdance, until The White Frost forced them to abandon the flat expanse for the verdant forests of the south.
  After the Ice Age, some elves struck out again for the plains, discovering that in their absence a new group of humanoids had taken to calling it their home. The elves establish an understanding with the primitives and both roam the eastern edge of Cormagh.
  The region is discovered by Lyon and Rioja, who establish colonies and trade routes through the coastal colonies. The now tribal nomads of the Nishi make contact with these foreign colonizers and tentatively accept their presence.
  The colonies are cut off from their supporters during the Third Dragon war. Forced to fend for themselves, the nation of Kalana is born.
