Utdall, God of the Earth and Below (OOT-dall)

Domains: Mountain, Death, Grave,

Description

Often depicted as an extremely tall, borderline gaunt man with stony skin and eyes that burn like flaming amethysts. He is depicted as wearing only hides and carrying a large axe, one side of the axe head a pick, the other a wide blade.   An alternate depiction of Utdall shows him as a giant earth elemental, made of spinning and grinding boulders spiked with glowing purple crystal, held together with rings of silver divine magic.

Personality

A withdrawn deity, generally very doug and an expressionless loner. Quiet and resolute being, who resists change more so than other deities. He does not care much for any race of beings over others, but is overall disenterested with mortalkith, until they come into his domain.   As the Lord of Below, Utdall is known to be cold, yet fair, depicted not as the god of death, but a god of the dead and their journey below the ground. As God of the Earth, he bears the weight of secret knowledge and protects the great riches found within the earth.

Activity

Utdall prefers to work through manifestations rather than avatars, and thus he seldom appears in the world. He is known to be wise, invoked to glean information regarding wards, magics, banes, hidden treasures, deeply buried wonders, and the secrets of the earth.   Usually, any intervention from Utdall serves the purpose of guiding people to the best decisions in times of crisis, focusing on minimizing the number of unnecessary deaths, or avoiding those before their time.

Tenets & Ideals
