Hykidite, Goddess of Invention (Heh-KID-ih-tee)

Domains: Creation, Forge, Speed,

Description

Hykidite is always depicted in one of three ways. She is always depicted as possessing immense physical strength, and immune to any weapon crafted by any means involving smithing, forging, or created with metal tools. Her chakram also is often depicted, sometimes interposed as a figurative halo, sometimes wielded by her scarred hands. Sometimes the chakram is depicted as an oversized gear or cog, although this is a newer trend among depictions.   Cosmic Construct. In this depiction, Hykidite is illustrated as a genderless construct of a humanoid shape. The seams between her panels and plating gleam with the blazing light of the forge, and she is haloed in brilliance, and stars gleam from seven points of her body: her crown, her heart, each hand, her navel, and each foot.   Mortal. In most depictions, Hykidite appears as a bronze-skinned, well-built woman, with complex braids through her dark red hair, wearing a blacksmith's apron, her muscular arms remaining bare. Her face and arms bear scars from the forge and its flames, and her hands are always depicted as bloody and bruised.   Fire Goddess. The least common of her depictions, Hykidite is illustrated as above for a mortal appearance, however in this depiction, her hair is pure fire, untamed and free, flowing behind her. The forge is usually the predominant object in this depiction, its flames roaring under her command. She is also depicted as the size of a giant, towering over mortal smiths as they approach her on bended knee to bless their forges.

Personality

Her personality is often depicted as brash and erratic, as her desire to innovate is intense, yet at other times described as methodical and disciplined. Often boastful, but eager to see concepts come to creation, regardless who they belong to.
