Winter

Winter is the fourth season of the year, and is both the coldest and darkest. It occurs after Autumn, beginning on the 1^st day of First Frostfall, and is just before spring, ending on the last day of Second Frostfall, which is the 50^th day during a normal year, and the 70^th day during the year of a Long Winter.

Winter rarely affects northern Yaleakasardia, but causes heavy snowfall and freezing weather in the southern parts of the continent. In both north and south, Winter brings later sunrises and earlier sunsets.

During Long Winters, snowfall and freezing weather is much harsher in the southern parts of the continent, and often unusually extends to the north. Sunrises occur much later and sunsets occur much earlier.
