The Slaughter

The Slaughter was a genocidal race war against Elves and Dragonkind by the First Men at the end of the Before, initially caused by resentment towards the Dragonkind for being the result of unions between humanoids and dragons. Eventually a number of Elven civilizations of the time joined in against the First Men to stop the genocide, but this made them another target for extermination. The coalition against the First Men was also allied with a number of Dwarven civilizations.

The conflict resulted in the near-total extinction of Elves and Dragonkind, and caused Sem-don, the patron god of Men, to command the Harunian witch Ferrerela to place the Witch's Curse upon the First Men.
