Dragon's Bane

Dragon's Bane was a mythical magickal spell purportedly used by the Anti-Keepers during the Dragon War to bring dragons to the ground. It was first seen being used during the Battle at Yorsin's Pass, when Perir of Naderā cast it at the great dragon Yaren. It is also more notable for being the first and only known instance of magick prior to the Witch's Curse.

Casting

It is unknown how the spell was casted. It is said to have been used many times during the Dragon War by various Anti-Keepers, but most notably by Perir of Naderā, who, when he used the spell, pointed his weapon upwards at a flying dragon and shouted various commands, including, "Down, dragon!"

Manifestation

The spell manifests as a bright spinning beam of golden light that strikes the dragon in a burst of light.

Effect

The spell appears to make dragons physically incapable of using their wings, bringing them crashing to the ground, where they can be better fought by ground combatants. The spell is believed to permanently handicap a dragon, but no dragon recorded ever lived for long after the spell was cast on them.
