Tor Fengtop

Original dragon word "FÆNGTOÞ", incorrectly transcribed into Wexan as "Fengtop"     The highest point of the Aspideas, and the wider Wexan Isles, Tor Fengtop towers over the surrounding pink granite massif as a jagged, broken tooth of green speckled black basalt that on cloudy days seems to pierce the very heavens. The mountain appears to be the remnant of an ancient volcano whose lava formed a plug and collapsed in on itself, leaving behind a shallow crater surrounded by a jagged rim of columnar basalt. Even in the heights of summer, the summit crater is filled with a lake of ancient blue ice so hard and enduring that it has become a single solid crystal.   Buried deep beneath the crater ice lurks the barely visible silhouette of a dome. It is well known that the ancient Dragons constructed observatories on the mountain tops all along the Aspideas range so it is assumed that this structure is also one. Though why a structure built for observing the stars was build within a crater is anyone's guess. Completely covered by ice, there is no access from the surface. Rumour has it that the mystery structure is in fact the mythical Astrolathe, and that someone managed to find their way inside...
