Horn One Fiesta
Bi-Annual Festival Celebrating Days of Harvest in the Kirinal Pit
The Concordance for Survival celebrates the Horn One Fiesta twice a year on the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes. The tradition originates from the Talino diaspora, where the dates align with the rice harvests in their homeland. The name refers to the Surveyor of World's "Horn One" call, which denotes a Day of Peace and Harvest here in the Kirinal Concordance Zone.
I enjoy a fiesta as much as anyone else, but we orcs didn't have harvests to celebrate, just raids and pillaging. Now that we're part of a larger civilization, it's important for us to show up. I don't pretend to care about old farming traditions, but I do care that everyone brings out their best liquor for Horn One! I go from slice to slice for some "tactical sampling." I do enjoy going from party to party and partaking!
In the Talin Islands, the Talinos celebrated the rice harvest twice a year during rainy and dry seasons. They held huge village-wide feasts with traditional dancing and religious processions. As the Talino diaspora spread, the celebration follwed them and was eventually adapted to life in the Zone.
In the Zone, crops do not grow in the blasted soil left by the Kirinal Catastrophes. The only true harvests come when the Surveyor of Worlds declares a Horn One Day of Harvest, allowing for food collection in rhe Manifest. The Kirinalos make sure to put aside some of their bounty for the next Horn One Fiesta.
They prepare a feast from the spoils of extraplanar hunts, multiversal produce, and elemental fields. Every Horn One Fiesta is unique, each feast is based on what was gathered from the Manifest in the six months prior.
In Garrison City, the holiday features the Horn One Cooking Competition. Contestants can only use ingredients that were harvested from the Pit that season. The winner receives the Horn One Cup. Many culinary careers have been catapulted by winning the Cup.

After the feast, revelers take to the streets in a costumed parade, depicting the worlds and planes that Manifested in the Pit in the months before. Traditional dances are performed followed by games and social dancing that continues into the night.
A floating lantern ritual marks the official end of festivities. The lanterns join the dance of the Incarnation Moths in the sky above the Pit.
Sounds like a fun festival. I love the inclusion of a cooking competition!
