Untameable Highlands

The Untameable Highlands, also known as Dragons Nest, consists of 3 mountain ranges and is covered in rocky hills for miles and miles the size of a kingdom. Grass is more abundant here than in any other part of the Northern Wilds, this is due to a higher humidity which leads to more clouds and frequent fog. Other than grass, vegetation is rare, having only a thin layer of dirt atop rock, making it impossible for roots to take hold.
Animals like hares, goats, deers, wolves, eagles, other birds and the rare bear can be found wandering the highlands. Other than these animals, the highlands are home to monster. Many claim to have seen dragons on the horizon over the highlands. Jeremia Elskivia was able to confirm the presence of Wyverns, Girffons and other less known monsters. However, in his reports there were no mentions of dragons. It was also Jeremia Elskivia that made the first accurate map of the highlands, before it was only estimates and guesses and some rumors even claimed the highlands were the end of the world and would continue forever. Some still claim the highlands is the birthplace of monsters, leading to its uncommon name, Dragons Nest. Some even say that Jeremia Elskivia labeled one of his maps of the highlands as Dragons Nest, and on that map a treasure is hidden.
