Nightmare Riders
While originally just a normal company of cavalry, the Nightmare Riders made a name for themselves by constantly fighting monsters and decorating themselves and their horses with parts from the monsters they've slain. Despite this grotesque decoration, towns rejoice when the Nightmare Riders come to slay a monster.
Despite being a small cavalry company of 400, they are one of the most effective no matter the task. Unique to the Nightmare Riders is that each of them wield glaives instead of the normal armanent, these glaives enhanced with Runestones, they use in a strategy called a Thousand Cuts. Each rider rides past the monsters attacking it once and getting to safety, once all 400 have done this they turn around and do it again until the monster can't stand for its wounds. To help ensure the effectiveness of this strategy, the captain of the Nightmare Riders uses his tamed wyvern to distract the monster so the riders can safely attack. It has proven a very effective strategy with minimal casulties.
