Motivation
Marc believed that America was the world and that the world was America. In that, he believed that the world itself was just a single nation composed of many people, just like America. If he could get everyone else to see that too, he thought he could establish world peace in his time, something his father could never even dream of.
Marc ran on a Nationalist-Patriotic platform of putting the US first above foreign countries and bringing them into the fold to make America stronger than ever. His message of togetherness and strength in unity was infectious, not just to Americans but across the world. He was a superhuman who was on a mission to unite mankind, drawing similarities to christ.
Even after Marc's defeat by Red Son II, his supporters across the world would still protest his trial and no shortage of domestic and foreign terrorist attacks were carried out in his name.
Vices & Personality flaws
Marcellus did not much care for the Butler surname. The Butler surname is rooted in his African American heritage, something that carries historical weight. Marc also felt upstaged by his father from the stories his mother told him and all the classified documents he read about Marquis when he was Director of Strategic Superhuman Operations.
Additionally, as the super soldier program and superheroes in general were still secret at this time, his father, Marquis, who led the other Super Soldiers to their death against Red Son I, was deemed a failure of a leader and he did not want to be associated with that.
However, during his second campaign run, superheroes were public information and the super soldier program was brought to light. Marc would then add Butler-Dior to his documents to capitalize off his father's legacy to further create a certain narrative of generational excellence.
Marc was unfaithful to his wife on several occasions, the Dior family made no shortage of private payments to a myriad of women to terminate bastards or hush money to keep it all done quietly and privately. Marc chopped it up to the price of being associated with a superhuman such as himself.

Alphonsine and Marc met each in the spring of 1985 at the Titan Summit, a Private Military-Industrial Conference in Manhattan, New York City. By 1987, Marcellus McIntyre Dior-Butler was a rising political and military figure, serving as Deputy National Security Advisor. He had been one of the key architects of superhuman defense policy and was actively overseeing the next generation of U.S. super-soldier programs. Meanwhile, Alphonsine Dior was ascending to power within Diorman Technologies, the massive corporate empire with contracts in advanced military technology, superhuman augmentation, and high-tier aerospace innovations. She was on track to inherit the company from her aging father, but corporate rivals and military skepticism about her leadership posed a challenge. The Titan Summit was a private, highly exclusive military-industrial conference attended by the U.S. government, top defense contractors, military generals, and corporate CEOs—where classified defense budgets were quietly negotiated, and the next decade of warfare was mapped out. Their relationship started out professional but grew into something resembling romance and by 1990, they were married, and by 1992, their first child, Marcellus Dior II, was born. When Marc and Alphonsine began their All-American Conquests, they leveraged the full might of the US empire and Diorman Technologies to great effect. While Marc was imprisoned by the UN on the moon around 2007, the US imprisoned Alphonsine at ADX Florence, Colorado. She would be released in 2021 by Washington and returned to her family and her children, the Argonauts. By 2023, after the Argonauts failed coup at the UN on Sept. 21st, Alphonsine would be returned to ADX for helping her children plan the attack. When news outlets sought comments from the still imprisoned Marc on the incident, he remarked that the attack was unremarkable and ill-advised, proving his children to still be inferior to himself. These comments would later result in Alphonsine filing for divorce from Marc.
