Tremo

The Survivor, The Prepared One, The Trembling Prophet, The Father of Flight

Tremo is widely regarded as the foremost authority on everything. His knowledge of any subject is as wide as it is deep, and he is committed to learning every last bit of new information. As one of the oldest deities still in play, the Survivor is well known across the land and is probably even more famous for his legendary cowardice than for his bottomless knowledge.

Perhaps the single greatest point of fame for the Father of Flight is that he survived the Purge. Interestingly though, that most legendary of exploits is not his own. Through the spread of the tale of Forgaron it has become known that Tremo came through the harrowing ordeal of the Great Purge  by cowering in the embrace of Aiyonia. In an ironic twist, that same tale has made it known that Tremo had predicted the Purge in time to do something about it and also that he chose to do nothing. This has earned the Trembling Prophet exactly what he wanted least. Attention and enemies.

Tenets of Faith

Tremo's core tenet is survival. He bids his followers remain constantly aware of the danger that lurks hidden in everything. He demands they expand their mind to encompass the knowledge necessary to extract themselves from the inevitable peril that always arises.

It is no wonder then, that the Prepared One's church arguably draws the most diverse following. Among his worshippers can be found knowledgeable sages, craven simpletons, brave seekers of truth and hermetic recluses.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Tremo is afraid of nearly everything with the zeal of a paranoid weakling. He really only wants to be left alone. His true goal is to live on in peace, and everything he does is in pursuit of that goal. For example, the only reason he gathers knowledge is to be in a position to predict when danger might arise so he can be prepared to flee in time. The Trembling Prophet does not endorse cowardice for cowardice's sake as many falsely believe. He sees it as a way to remain safe and avoid conflict. As his clergy often quote, a coward's mother never has to mourn her child.

In accordance with that general outlook, The Father of Flight avoids interfering directly in the mortal plane. He prefers things to be stable and predictable and never does anything that might attract unwanted attention. Indeed, the only reason he accepts clerics and grants them powers is so that they might gather knowledge for him indirectly. It is also unsurprising that Tremo avoids the rest of the pantheon. Most other gods despise him as a weakling anyway, especially Gar, Zarinia and Aggradon, or seek to take advantage of his unrivalled knowledge, which Tremo despises. Forgaron is the most notable exception in that he harbours no ill will towards the Survivor. A special mention is owed to Olgrimm for whom wringing Tremo's neck is high on the agenda.
