Gar
The Beast, The Leader of the Pack, The Natural Selector
Gar is one of the oldest deities still active in the world. In fact her worship predates the Great Purge although very few scholars have any accurate knowledge of what her church or the goddess herself were like before that catastrophic event. What all those in the know agree on is that Gar was always a cruel master and that the shocking times following the Purge pushed her towards more cruelty in some ways and more compassion in others.

Divine Symbols & Sigils
Anything symbolizing an aspect of an apex predator. Most usually the stylized teeth of a carnivore, open and poised to snap.
Tenets of Faith
Gar is a nature deity. She advocates survival of the fittest by any means neccessary and generally represents the most cruel and savage aspect of nature. She cares very little about those who cannot fend for themselves. The sole exception to that outlook concerns parents who defend their young against external threats (especially mothers). This means that while Gar would support and even foster internal conflict - the runt of the litter being pushed out of the nest - she would also require the mother to fight off a predator to ensure the safety of her children.
The goddess's church is a largely disorganized affair. Separate enclaves tend towards independence from one another as they are expected to be able to take care of themselves in accordance with Gar's teachings. Even within the same enclave cooperation is rarely the order of the day as every subordinate would prefer to show their chops by addressing any problems on their own, and at the same time, every superior would not deign to deal with any situation that has not already proven to be beyond the skills of those below them. Exceptions to this are not unheard of especially when an organized external threat is present but even then it is rare.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Gar considers herself an apex predator. Having survived the Purge she sees herself as the fittest and is content with her place in the world. She is rarely motivated to actively participate in the affairs of either mortals or gods unless she perceives a worthy challenge to her undisputed dominance. In the rare instances she requires fun she will usually walk the mortal realm and participate in the natural food chain, most often in the guise of a predator. In such cases she inevitably hunts the most exotic prey she can find or some other predator that is capable enough to provide a suitable diversion.
Gar respects Verdaner's aspect of strength but disdains his other aspect of mutual support and cooperation. She also likes the motherly aspect of Aiyonia but severely dislikes her love-for-all side. Zarinia is the goddess Gar has the most respect and even fondness for as she feels the former's cruelty promotes survival of the fittest. At the same time however, she sees Zarinia as a usurper of sorts and considers the sea to be her rightful domain as part of the natural world.
