Crown Prince Dalloran
Dalloran was elected crown prince two centuries ago, following the Great Chaos Incursion. Under the rule of his predecessor, Prince Erione of Tor Vael, the kingdom was ravaged by Norse and Dark Elf invaders. Though Erione is a respected loremaster and councillor today, during those hard times, he was deemed too close to the Phoenix Court, and his devotion to Cothique was in question. Therefore Dalloran was chosen, for his pragmatism and more modest personal ambitions, to lead Cothique’s reconstruction.
Tor Koruali’s emergence as a mercantile power can be credited in large part to Dalloran. His household, which has owned mines on the peninsula for generations, are savvy sea traders. At Dalloran’s behest, Tor Koruali has nearly tripled its imports and exports by declaring itself a free market. Prince Dalloran’s business acumen exceeds his martial prowess, and though his tall frame looks dashing in a suit of armour, he often delegates Cothique’s military commands to more battle-hardened princes.
Prince Dalloran has retained his crown by bringing wealth to Cothique and catering to each faction within the Council of Princes. Expansionist princes enjoy free licence to explore, raid, and colonise at will, whilst more isolationist princes are satisfied with Dalloran’s naval investments and strict enforcement of ylvathoi trespass laws. However, Dalloran’s moderate political stance will not serve him indefinitely as the council becomes increasingly polarised. Cothique’s princes are demanding bolder leadership in the escalating trade disputes with foreign powers such as Marienburg and Brionne.
