Shellon

Shellon of Wakodia

Overview

The Shellon are a wise and enduring people, shaped by the slow tides of time and the strength of stone. With thick shells upon their backs and deep-set eyes that seem to have witnessed centuries, Shellon are as varied as the rivers and cliffs that birthed them. Though often slow to act, they are never aimless — each movement purposeful, each word weighted. Most Shellon value balance, tradition, and the preservation of natural order, while some channel their ancient strength into fierce guardianship or primal fury.

Subraces of Shellon

Hardback Shellon

Region: Inlands, cliffs, and forested plateaus Traits: Known for their immense durability and stoic nature. Masters of patience, tradition, and land-based rituals.

Tideborne Shellon

Region: Coastal waters, coral sanctuaries, and tidal caves Traits: Agile swimmers and mystics of the deep, attuned to moon tides, oceanic currents, and spiritual flow.

Snapmaw Shellon

Region: Marshlands, volcanic ridges, and flooded jungles Traits: Fierce and primal. Their jagged shells and powerful jaws mark them as warriors, feared even by other Shellon.

Culture and Society

Shellon culture varies by region, but all share reverence for ancestral memory, the slow passing of wisdom, and the sanctity of nature’s balance. Their settlements are often grown rather than built — cliffside stone terraces, reef-cradled shrines, or moss-wrapped huts along the river.
Hardbacks are the keepers of laws and oaths, while Tideborne seek omens in currents and stars. Snapmaws often live in exile or among warrior cults, embracing their role as defenders — or destroyers.

Faith

Many Shellon venerate Tenyari, the Angler of Stars, as a symbol of patience, foresight, and the deep unknown. Others worship Oakenfell, god of endurance and stone, or Aqualon, guardian of tides. Faith is lived slowly — through ritual, remembrance, and nature’s rhythms.

Playing as a Shellon:

Playing a Shellon means embracing patience, inner strength, and the slow power of inevitability. Whether as a wandering sage, a tide-blessed monk, or a reclusive swamp guardian, Shellon characters bring gravity and quiet wisdom to any group. Their connection to the world’s ancient rhythms makes them natural druids, clerics, and wardens — or fierce protectors of the old ways in a world moving too fast.
